It oughta be three. Dujuan Harris seems like at least as good an alternative to Lacy as Starks. It seems like he cuts quicker, has better vision, and is harder to bring down - important factors since our O Line doesn't often open big holes.

I couldn't agree more and have been advocating using Lacy as that punishing, wear down a defense back this entire season. As of now, Lacy has 66 carries in 5 games. It really should be somewhere around 100 IMO. 20 carries/game isn't too much to ask of a workhorse back like Lacy. BUT, the Packers haven't been running much as a whole. They only have around 100 total carries as a team.

Still waiting for DuJuan to get some screens. Seems like they're starting to run a few. If they can get that shit smoothed out, Harris can be dangerous.

Still looks like a Chinese fire drill at times.

I'm kind of worried that the Packers will trade James Starks. I think he is the key to the post-season for the Packers this season and the Packers need both Eddie Lacy and Starks equally.

The time for running the ball to control the clock is still a month away.

We got a little taste of it, in the rain, last Thursday.

You all just need to be patient.

No reason to wear Lacy out early in the year.

Fresh legs in November and December will be a benefit.

Remember Mike doesn't want to make substitutions during any one series to keep the defense on the field.

Whichever RB starts the series is probably going to finish it.

True about that not changing RBs in the middle of a series, and that's kinda annoying. A lot of times, it seems like the wrong kind of back is in the game - need a yard for a first down, and where's Lacy? Not in the game where he needs to be.

What I find annoying and this might derail the thread, (oops), is when the Packers are in Goal 2 Go (e.g. less than 10 yards to score) and they are in Shotgun!

James Starks is a punishing back in his own right. And he's faster, and often more effective. They both need to be used. The key is using them both correctly. It's not easy to do, but Mike McCarthy doesn't do it right, sometimes. If Lacy is getting heated up and being effective, don't instantly pull him out. Find the best recipe for the current match up and stick with it until a change is needed.

As I posted earlier, Lacy gets better as a game progresses. He is a "Star" player and would /should be the prime RB. Bringing in Starks to provide Lacy a breather is fine, but thinking Starks has the speed to turn the corner or slip through gaps is wishful thinking. Yes, a back like Starks does occasionally get lucky and break a good one, but I still remember the Packers without Lacy. We moaned and groaned about Starks and Ryan Grant before Eddie" The Tank" Lacy began to Rock the House !

Inside the 10yd line, the Shotgun formation just tells an opposing Defence to defend the pass. 🤦
Bring in Kuhn & Lacy, then snap the ball to the QB lined up under the center. The D will not know if Kuhn is in to pass block, block for Lacy, run the ball himself, or any number of other plays available. Also, has the two tight end set been seen utilized yet this season. Send two big boys across the middle and intimidate the opposing Defence for a change !
