For the second time this year, with about 20 secs left in the first half, Mike's elected to let the clock run down to a few secs, then call time out and try a field goal. Both times the field goal was missed and the Pack came away with nothing. Neither time was 4th down, so there was time to take a shot at the end zone and then try a field goal.

Isn't he sending the message to his offense that he doesn't trust them to not turn the ball over or do something to screw up and move them out of field goal range? And if so, is that the message he really wants to be sending? I just don't understand why he doesn't try for the end zone in those situations.

1. We have special teams for a reason. Yes the kick missed and that sucked, but a smart move when up 10. Don't press your luck.

2. We should take a shot, you say. Right, except that's our only option, and guess what, the other team knows that too. The chances of a touchdown pass there decrease substantially. Odds are only bad things happen there.

We're not discussing this if Crosby does his job, and we shouldn't be now either.

What's McCarthy thinking heading into halftime? "We're up 10 points and people complain. Some of these fans annoy me."

I was curious abou that myself. Couldn't figure out why we wouldn't hurry up and take one shot at the end zone.

BUT we have Rodgers and Jennings, thus it doesn't matter what the other team is thinking.

Even if Crosby hits the kick I still think it's a strange call. An attempt at 7--followed by a field goal attempt if that fails--seems to be a better option than just trying the field goal. McCarthy's telling Rodgers he doesn't trust him to take a shot and if nothing's there throw it away.

I know... Im being a dick... its an unfortunate thing i do. sorry.

but my general point is that either Ted or Mike get criticized because they don't do things like people at home would do them on Madden.

you are right. i thought why not go for it too. but then we won 34-14 and realized he is smarter than me.

i didn't second guess his onside kick though. I thought it was agressive, ballsy and smart. If you jump out early on the Colts it takes away their entire game plan and seems to deflate them. They aren't a comeback team and they never play well in a hole. If we recover that kick and score a touchdown... we may have blown them out by 50.

dfosterf (11h) : *Elgersma*
dfosterf (11h) : Today would be a good day to discover the Pack signed Taylor Engersma, the Canadian QB
Zero2Cool (11-May) : It wasn't. He simply wanted his money back. They refused. Cops came. They gave him his money in end.
dfosterf (11-May) : Fortunately it doesn't sound like a big deal

Martha Careful (5-May) : Yes, in the military S2’s work on IPB, PERCEC, PHYSEC and IO
dfosterf (4-May) : FYI civilian companies swipe the S2 designation from the military. S2 is the intelligence branch up to brigade level. G2 is division level.
dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.

Zero2Cool (4-May) : Maybe there isn't an issue.

Zero2Cool (1-May) : Packers did not activate the fifth-year options for linebacker Quay Walker, with the goal of signing him to a contract extension.
