Whenever someone says "no offense", that means offense is intended and is usually taken. [grin1]

I think this game has a touch of revenge and it's balls to the wall and that opinion is predicated on what I've heard/read players and coaches say about it. Mike McCarthy has said a few times how important it is to win this game. He hasn't spoken those words in direct light of Fail Mary and I believe he was over it first. As evidenced by my comments, I was done with it a long time ago.

Read this article with Aaron Rodgers  comments and tell me you think he's entering this game as ho-hum another game. This guy still pissed off that he went 24th overall back in 2005 and you think he doesn't have something extra for this game? You add in that he missed what half of 2013?

I have said many times. Fail Mary wasn't the fault of the Seahawks, it was the officials. It wasn't the fans, it wasn't the players, it wasn't the coaches... it was the officials. I think Packers fans are pissed off at how the Seahawks portray the win as they earned it, instead of acknowledging it was given to them.

Second, I can't help if you take offense to something that really wasn't that offensive in the first place. As I said in my next paragraph of that post I am not singling you out. You may very well be over the call but you did bring it up and that is why I used your post a launching off point for my reply. It could have just as easily been anyone elses fail mary reference.

Finally I have no doubt that Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers and I hope the rest of the Packers team and coaching staff are NOT treating this as another ho-hum game. This is not only the Packers first game of the new season it is the first game of the entire league. Everyone will be watching. It is against the defending super bowl champs. They are the ones that many are saying are the best team in the league. The Packers have something to prove after last season. This is a chance to prove to everyone who thinks they can't play with the big boys that they are wrong. It is a chance to prove to everyone who does think they have what it takes that they are right. It is far from a ho-hum game and there are many many reasons not to treat it as such but IMO a bad call in a game 2 seasons ago that was beyond their control is not one of them. Quite frankly if all that this game is isn't enough to motivate a player and they need to rely on the memory of that game I would have to severely question their motivation in the first place.

The Seahawks' style of play in the secondary last year was indeed capitalizing on the tug. grab, and tug again leeway given by the NFL referees.

It is a new year with a new directive to the ref's by the N.F.L. competition committee.

The Seahawks secondary is really fucked if they even consider playing they way they played last year.

Packers will put up 300 yards in the air. Win by 17 points.

Trust R.P. on this.

Bet the farm.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
