Try ... just try to view those comments of lies in actual context sometime. An employee telling his boss what to do. Yea, gotcha. when he doesnt do as you say, suddenly he's a liar.

another thing..We all are told or witnessed how truthful Brett is..

The one man that HE REALLY should be truthful to he holds back

WHY?

I always thought McCarthy was complicit in Favre leaving which is why if they don't finish with a winning record this season, Thompson AND McCarthy should be gone. I don't remember us cutting Sherman any slack over one losing season, and his teams were consistent winners.

Simply, it was very similar to a typical divorce.. things get said in angst, feelings are hurt and some can forgive.. and some can't.

Personally.. I think "it" has more to do with Brett's attitude toward Ted and Mike for his perception that things were being said that didn't match with what Brett believed them to be. I don't know Brett.. but I know he is ultra competitive and probably wouldn't let go of some of that.

To blow it up over one play.. I would find that hard to believe and even worse a knee jerk type reaction. It was proven that the line couldn't get the job done to allow us to run all day against the Giants.. I find it suspect that Mike McCarthy would stick to the ground there.. only case would be field position.. but the way Harris was getting owned by Eli and Burress.. would of it really mattered?

Point number two, why I find it hard to believe.. if Ted and Mike McCarthy really wanted to fix something that was broken on that day.. they should have looked no further than the 5 directly in front of the QB before the snap. They didn't get it down and a fast but somewhat undersized front.

Back to the direct topic on the Brett saga

The divorce is final and custody has been rendered.. case closed. ;)

Continue on though.. the debate is endless.

I was told that Brett could not get past the fact that, in Brett's opinion, Ted continually didn't keep his word and lied about events to the media. Therefore, Brett could not trust him. Remember Brett saying that some of the things Ted (and Mike) said during the whole thing were simply not true?

Personalize it. Could you continue to work for someone whom you felt continually lied to you and your coworkers and customers about you?

"longtimefan" wrote:

Ted should have said..

Brett thanks for your input we will look into it but cant promise anything

If one of those 2 things happens,. we arent here today I bet

but we end up with these things.

Brett Favre didnt like the guard situation and told this to Ted Thompson.

but Ted Thompson didnt listen to him so he took it as a slap

But he let it slide like 90% of us would..

Then it happens a 2nd time? Again he said nothing to Ted Thompson I bet lot of us would have said something.

Then a 3rd time and still said nothing?

Then he is ticked off about his locker being shipped and said okay Ted GREAT

Well god damn, if all those things bothered him then he should have said something..at the start..

Brett is a grown man and should have said something and not let it stew in his gut

But AGAIN ( b4 anyone blasts me)

TED could have and SHOULD have said something as well...

"Trippster" wrote:

That's just it. It was improperly set expectations.

I don't think Brett is mad they didn't actually do any of the things he asked. He has said that a few times.

It was that Ted told him he WOULD talke to Mooch and stuff like that.

Brett merely suggested some ways to improve the team. That is not uncommmon with a Veteran Superstar. Jordan did it, Kobe did it. And even the Cavs have sought out JAmes' opinion before making some moves.

I believe Brett to be honest. I think he believes that Ted was not honest with him. That is hard to overcome. I don't believe it was that Ted didn't actually do what Brett wanted.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic

beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
