I am going to say Hayward is going to burst back on the scene.

I am worried about Clinton-Dix. I can see him being a big disappointment.

Mostly because so many have such high hopes for him. Just because he is a safety and there was a huge hole at safety last year.

I don't think he will supplant Richardson and Hyde. We had a problem with not enough experience back there last year. Going to a rookie would be a step back.

He is too stiff and just seems like someone that would get routinely scorched in coverage. But Hyde certainly has a chance.

I like Sherrod and House to step up this year but I'm not really sure either of them will get a chance to show it. Someone like Barrington is a good candidate too but the guy I'm going with is Datone Jones.

For the bust I'll go with Peppers and say he's not going to have the impact a lot of people are expecting out of him. I don't think he'll be awful like Raji was last year but I don't think he's going to be the guy we've all been waiting for to tear it up across from CMIII

I think most of the rookies will "disappoint" based on expectations unless one is just ridiculous I don't think anyone but Haha is really in line for enough snaps to make a huge impact this year. Not that I don't think they will contribute or make the team better this year because it isn't just 22 guys playing in the game. I don't think we'll have any ROY candidates this year though.

BURST:
Bradford. IMO easily TT's best pick this year.
Goodson (even though I hated the pick, he'll be the "eat my words" pick for this year)
Lyerla. He'll have more TDs than any other Packer TE.
A Rodgers: 60 TD passes, 5 INTs.
Jarrett Bush: After surviving yet another final cutdown, ends up being special teams player of year. ... and then gets cut before training camp 2015.

BUST:
Adams (he'll tease at the #4 WR for a couple years, but in the end, he''ll be, uh, Derrick Mayes)
Abbrederis (not for play, though; his concussion history just worries me)
Janis
(shocking everyone Ted Thompson goes 0-3 at WR in this year's draft)
Hayward (just a gut feeling. Dunno why, really, just something doesn't strike me right about the guy.)
House. Oh, wait a minute, he was a bust already. Never mind.

This post forces me to take off my mindless optimism glasses. Well done sir!

So a new guy burst and a new guy bust.

New guy burst: Richard Rodgers

I like what he can bring to the table. He will be the guy many people are watching during training camp specifically. He was the OTA rookie standout.

New guy bust: Khyri Thornton

I like his long term potential as a "guy in the rotation" but I don't expect big things from him. Then again, who knows, maybe he dominates in training camp and surprises everyone. Jones did that last year though and he had a mostly quiet rookie campaign. I expect the same out of Thornton.

Here is a question. In what round do you (not just you Darkane but everyone) stop considering players to be busts if they do not produce. Maybe a better question would be in what round do you stop "expecting big things" from a guy and just hope he can contribute?

You have to have depth on the team that the 5th round is a good lace for depth. 3rd round and up should start within 3 years or at least be on the field a lot. 4th round is someone I would like to start but realize in today's game who is the "starter"? The guy who trots out on to the field on first down or the guy who is out there for the majority of the snaps? 4th round is a guy who should be a major contributor to the team but it can take a few years before he does.

I think anyone picked in the first 3 rounds needs to be a key contributor in Year 1. Not a starter necessarily. Doing more than Jones did, but not needing to produce at Lacy's level either. If they don't produce by 2 years, they are a bust. Injuries aren't fair, but they have an impact.

In 2012, Perry, Worthy, and Hayward were selected in first 3. Worthy and Hayward were important contributors in Year 1. Perry wasn't.

4th & 5th rounds also get two years to become productive or they face the bust label. But I don't expect anything major in Year 1 from them.

I lump 6th & 7th rounders with UDFA. I'm excited when Ted Thompson finds someone that can contribute from there.
