Here's one thing. And I thought this at the time, but you may not believe me.

When Favre "retired," Ted should have traded his rights to a team outside of the division. Get a late round pick, or whatever. But deal with the situation proactively. Favre would have probably been released after a year and ended up with the Queens anyway, but this would have avoided the big circus that Favre caused in Green Bay.

Then again, maybe it was hard to see that fiasco coming.

The reason I stick with the Brad Jones deal is Thompson shoulda known better - the great majority of fans certainly did. As for Hawk, he was the choice at the time of maybe 60% of the fans; I was part of the 40% who preferred Vernon Davis.

I would have let Brett Favre rot on the bench for two years behind Rodgers.

Waiting until now to draft a top Safety after Nick Collins went down. Going from pro-bowl calibre to average-at-best Safety play hurt our secondary. Granted there was not much out there to be had, but FA or moving up in the draft should have been explored.

Someone mentioned Randy Moss. This has been hashed over and over. Packers had no control over that. They went to bed thinking they had Moss. Patriots and Raiders agreed to terms and Raiders didn't give Packers chance to match or improve, so I can't hold that one against Thompson.

Tony Gonzelez comes to mind. Packers used their 2nd round pick on Mike Neal.

Brian Orakpo instead of B.J. Raji also comes to mind.

I would have let Brett Favre rot on the bench for two years behind Rodgers.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
