Everybody is absorbing as much information as they can right now, so I wanted to put all my work out there for some of you to maybe examine.

Final 2014 NFL Mock Draft  -- Top 100 Big Board

Draft Previews by Division
NFC North  -- NFC South  -- NFC West  -- NFC East  -- AFC North  -- AFC South  -- AFC West  -- AFC East

The following players fit Green Bay well, in my opinion…

Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
In 2013, Dallas passed on Sharrif Floyd because they prioritized their needs. Jason Hatcher is no longer with the team, and now they need a defensive tackle. The Packers could face a similar situation with Dennard. Davone House and Tramon Williams may not be with the team this time next year. I wouldn’t rule out a cornerback in the top 100, especially one as good as Dennard. His coverage skills mirror Darrelle Revis. I'd take him at No. 21.

Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
I don’t anticipate Barr lasting until pick No. 21, but he could develop into a 10-sack per season type of pass rusher. You don’t pass on that kind of player, especially since Nick Perry’s done very little in two years.

Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
He’s the perfect pick. He’s 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, which is the prototype size for a safety. He's a day one starter. He can play the run or serve as the last line of defense in the secondary. I think he’s the best fit if he’s on the board, but I have a hard time believing he’ll get to No. 21.

Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
He could be Troy Polamalu in Green Bay’s system. That’s a big-time comparison, but he has outstanding instincts. I don’t think he can cover the slot, though. That’s why I think there’s an outside chance he’s available at No. 21. Between him and Clinton-Dix, he’s more likely to be on the board.

C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
I’ve never gotten on board with him as a top 10 player in this draft, which is why I've been on this pick longer than most. Medical issues could cause him to slide. People worry that Alabama players have already peaked, but Green Bay’s had success with Eddie Lacy. He steps in and starts at inside linebacker on day one, in my assessment.

Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State
He’s a three-down linebacker, which makes him very valuable. There just aren’t many true linebackers capable of hanging with today’s tight end. You can trot out Brad Jones and A.J. Hawk on third down, but that doesn’t mean they’re three-down linebackers. His speed (4.40) is where his value comes into play. The Packers need somebody fast enough to prevent Colin Kaepernick (or Russell Wilson) from reaching the chains. That’s what he does. I don’t buy that he’s a project. He continues to grow on me, though I suspect he’ll go in the top 20.

Deone Bucannon, S, Washington
The Packers want to get bigger and faster across the board. Bucannon has size (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) and speed (4.40). He has a bit of a Leroy Butler vibe too him. That doesn’t mean he’s the next Butler, but I think that’s his ceiling. I think the Packers would prefer to trade down to select him, but they’d give him consideration at No. 21.

Marqise Lee, WR, USC
Lee can play every receiving position, which the Packers value. He’s terrific after the catch, making him lethal in the west coast offense. I believe Aaron Rodgers could turn him into a superstar.

Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame
I have to include at least one player I don’t particularly like at this spot. He’s on his butt too often for a nose tackle and I found his performance against Michigan somewhat alarming. Michigan did not have an experience offensive line this year, so Nix should’ve had his way with them. He had a quiet game, particularly in the first half. I didn’t like the Datone Jones, Nick Perry, or Derek Sherrod picks. I’m worried the trend will continue.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
I think I’m one of the few people who would celebrate this pick. He compares with Rob Gronkowski. I have him No. 8 overall on my board. His catch radius is insane. He can use his size to outmaneuver defenders in the red zone. His athleticism is very good. He has the build to be an incredible blocker. He has the toughness to make him look like a throwback, but the athleticism to make him look like a modern day tight end. I would be pleased with him in round one or two.

Jimmie Ward, Northern Illinois
He’s a bit similar to Clinton-Dix, but he didn’t do it against high-level competition. He did play against Florida State in the 2013 Orange Bowl, and he was magnificent in that game. We know the Seminoles have a ton of prospects heading to the NFL this year and next year. That’s a good sign. He also was great against Iowa this year, which was a fun game to watch. In other words, he played well against high-level competition when he received the chance.

Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU
Van Noy played all over the place for BYU. He lined up with his hand in the dirt, stood up as an outside linebacker, and kicked inside. I’m intrigued with him as an inside linebacker. He could be a thumper inside. I could see Dom Capers using him in a lot of stunts. Most likely, he is a trade back scenario or the Packers could move up on day two for him.

My Amateur Scouting Reports
Quarterbacks  -- Running Backs  -- Wide Receivers  -- Tight Ends  -- Offensive Tackles  -- Centers & Guards  -- 4-3 Defensive Ends  -- 3-4 Defensive Ends  -- Defensive Tackles  -- Rush Linebackers  -- Outside Linebackers  -- Inside Linebackers  -- Cornerbacks  -- Safeties

Professional looking, Matt. I clicked your WR link... I noticed you didn't have Cody Latimer among your top guys or even among your best of the rest. I also noted it was posted April 11th which is years ago in pre draft time.

Interesting how you've listed your Top WR's...Mike Evans way down at 8th. I kinda like the fact you've done it your way where it doesn't feel like it's just a cookie cuter copycat piece.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Just goes to show that there will be someone there at 21 no matter which way the draft proceeds.

His measurables are great, so I recognize his potential. I like Allen Robinson and Donte Moncrief more, though. I have a feel for those guys and I tend to treat combine warriors (or whatever name we give them) with skepticism.

I don’t see Evans’ speed in shorts translating to Sundays. He ran a 4.5. He played like a 4.7, in my opinion. He’s going to have trouble getting separation from defensive backs. His bowl game raised some red flags.

dfosterf (6h) : I have some doubt about all that
dfosterf (6h) : I read De'Vondre Campbell's tweet this morning (via the New York Post) Florio says that if he invested his earnings wisely, he will be good
beast (20-Feb) : I haven't followed, but I believe he's good when healthy, just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
dfosterf (20-Feb) : Hasn"t Bosa missed more games than he has played in the last 3 years?
Mucky Tundra (19-Feb) : He hasn't been too bad when healthy but I don't feel like I ever heard much about when he is
Zero2Cool (19-Feb) : Felt like he was more interested in his body, than football. He flashed more than I expected
Zero2Cool (19-Feb) : When he was coming out, I thought he'd be flash in pan.
Mucky Tundra (19-Feb) : Joey seems so forgettable compared to his brother for some reason
Zero2Cool (19-Feb) : NFL informed teams today that the 2025 salary cap will be roughly $277.5M-$281.5M
Zero2Cool (19-Feb) : Los Angeles Chargers are likely to release DE Joey Bosa this off-season as a cap casualty, per league source.
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : If the exploit is not fixed, we'll see tons of "50 top free agents, 50 perfect NFL team fits: We picked where each should sign in March" lo
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Issue should be solved, database cleaned and held strong working / meeting. Boom!
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : It should be halted now.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : usually spambots are trying to get traffic to shady websites filled with spyware; the two links being spammed were to the Packers website
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : you know when you put it that way combined with the links it was spamming (to the official Packers website)
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : even with the rapid fire posts?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : I'm not certain it's a bot.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I've got to go to work soon which is a pity because I'm enthralled by this battle between the bot and Zero
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yeah, I see what that did. Kind of funny.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : now it's a link to Wes Hodkiezwicz mailbag
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Now they're back with another topic
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : oh lol
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : I have a script that purges them now.
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : 118 Topics with Message.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : what's 118 (besides a number)?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : They got 118 slapped in there.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : that's why it confused the hell out of me
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yeah, but this is taking a headline and slapping it into the Packers Talk
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Wasnt there a time guests could post in the help forum?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : lol good question, kind of impressed!
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : So how is a guest posting?
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Tell them its an emergency
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Working. Meetings.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Lots of fun; the spam goes back 4 or 5 pages by this point
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I thought you'd look for yourself and put 2 and 2 together lol. I overestimated ya ;)
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I thought Guests couldnt post?
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : And gosh that's gonna be fun to clean up! hahaa
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Oh. Why not just say that then? Geez.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : check the main forum, seems a spam bot is running amok
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : What?
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : Is the Packers online game "Packers Predict" now available for 2024? I can't tell
Zero2Cool (17-Feb) : Bengals planning to Franchise Tag Tamaurice Higgins
Zero2Cool (14-Feb) : Packers are hiring Luke Getsy as senior offensive assistant.
Martha Careful (12-Feb) : I would love to have them both, esp. Crosby, but either might be too expensive.
Zero2Cool (12-Feb) : Keisean Nixon is trying to get Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams lol
Mucky Tundra (11-Feb) : Yeah where did it go?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : or did you resctrict access to that topic?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : why did you remove the Playoff topic?
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Tua’s old DC won a Super Bowl Year 1 with Tua’s former backup
