The pass to Jennings in this game for the TD reminded me of the Favre to Jennings pass vs. KC last year, except into a smaller window (tighter coverage), 5 yards longer, and with a hurt shoulder.

So I'll tweak Roddy's statement a bit and say Rodgers' playing makes him look better than he really is. ;)

I've noticed the same. That should come with reps as he and the receivers continue to build a rapport.

Funny you mention that because I remember awhile back I mentioned that Brett needs to lead his WR better. That's not saying he was bad at it, just an observation that he could do a better job of it. Now when it came to slant passes, Brett was excellent in that regard. In the deep balls is where he didn't lead his WR too well. (i.e. Jennings OT Denver).

And your claiming he hasn't thrown an incomplete deep pass yet isn't as biased the other way? How about the ball he shortarmed to Jennings two weeks ago in the loss to the Falcons? Rodgers has played well and has shown great accuracy, but let's not hyperbolize it.

How am I being Biased. This thread is NOT about Brett Favre. It's about Rodgers ability to throw the deep balls, and also remember that we had one called back to Driver. But when we go over top, weather it's 20 yards or 60 yards it seems we always make the plays.

I just don't get it.. this is the same receiving corp and line as last year.. so maybe the receivers have been bailing out QB's in Green Bay for a while. ;)

Of course it takes two to tango.. so giving him props isn't out of the question..

We have talented receivers that is for sure but the guys flinging the football for the past two years definitely had just as much to do with it.

Favre made sh*t receivers look great too.....

That's the difference!

Go to the Favre section. If I wasn't clear with the post before that this was not about Favre then I hope I am now.

It's a lot of Rodgers AND the receivers. Rodgers has done a good job putting the ball where only his receiver can catch it, or where he has a significant advantage. For instance, the deep ball against Minnesota early on was thrown to a spot where Jennings could shield off the defender and make a good catch. Against Atlanta he threw a ball to Driver between two defenders that was indefensible, and gave Driver a chance to make that fantastic grab. Sometimes he's also making it easy for his receivers like the strike to Jennings against Tampa. Being 8 of 15 in passes of 20+ yards (from mattresell's numbers) isn't solely a product of Rodgers or his receivers excellent play, but of both doing an amazing job together.

Actually it's 8 out of 15 on those plays. Half is nowhere near every time unless you're letting bias skew your opinion. And where did I mention Favre?

The thing is our receivers are the real deal. Favre always made receivers look better than they were, but part of the reason why he was so successful last year is that Jennings, Driver, and Jones are arguably the best trio of receivers he's had in his career. Unlike guys like Robert Ferguson and Bill Schroeder, all these guys are fearless when it comes to sacrificing their bodies for the ball.

Everybody wants the ball in Green Bay, but we only have one QB to get them the ball.

I forgot. Rodger's can't be complemented without comparing him to Favre.

Rodger's isn't allowed to be good because Lord Favre is a legend.

Makes sense.
