This is who I want so we can say Bye Bye Raji

Aaron Donald

Watch the highlight at 1:15 he tackles the qb and running back at the same time lol

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be šŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The only problem I have with drafting another 3-4 DE, especially one like Hageman, is that we're so stocked with "potential" at that position in Daniels, Jones, Worthy and both Neal and Boyd depending on what they're playing with those two, that I'm not sure I'd like another first rounder invested at this point.

Of course you pick him up if he would fall down further than expected and he'll be just of too great a value to pass on him.

Nix, I like. He's really not that different from Raji coming out of college. I wouldn't hestitate to take a shot on him if he would fall all the way down to us. Thing is, he's way too talented to go 21st overall. We'd have to trade up. Since he might just be the best DT in the draft and is projected to play NT in both the 3-4 and 4-3, giving him high positional value, I don't see him falling to the 20s.

I know it's not exactly the same thing since the Packers are technically a 3-4 and run a lot of subpackages that involve 2 DL, but being able to control the LOS with only 4 guys seems more important than ever with how much the NFL favors passing these days.

Obviously that's within reason, but a borderline dominant pass rush can cover up so many holes in a defense. A great offensive line can also make average QBs look very good. I think Ted Thompson is a very good GM, but I do wish he would focus more on building strong trenches. Although it's not like he hasn't tried, it just hasn't worked out very well.

I've seen a number of mocks that had Nix dropping to the late 20s, probably because of his knee injury. And every once in a while you get a surprise and some NT drops into the 2nd round that seems to be a shock for draft people. Also I think Raji had a lot more burst than Nix.

Our top priority should be Safety. I'm hoping Ted takes two!

While we do need run stopping and pass rush, that will be all for naught with another season of complete dog shit Safety play. Add to that, we've spent some high picks, a lot of picks at DL. Time to further develop that talent: Daniels, Worthy, Jones, Boyd.

"Safety First!"

BTW, that size + talent at NT/DT is highly coveted, and I will understand them going there this year with a R1. But, man, lousy play at S has killed us 3 years running.

I've said it before and I will say it again, I do not watch college football so I will never make a suggestion as to WHO the Packers should draft. I also think that the Packers could use help at pretty much every position so I won't even make a suggestion as to what position they should draft. You asked who I wanted. Well, I just want someone who will contribute in 2014. I don't care if it is a linebacker or a safety or a nose tackle or a tight end or a kicker (Ok I'd care if it were a kicker) I just want someone who will play the entire season and be one of those guys who makes people say "that was a good pick" I'm tired of "he could develop into a solid starter" type picks. I know injuries have taken that away from some of our past #1s and that can't be helped. I also know that at #21 there are no guarantees (there are no guarantees at#1 either) I'm just sick of #1 picks that don't pan out (although sometimes the #2 picks kind of make up for it)

I know that's a cheesy kind of answer but hey, we are a cheesy kind of team. Its a cop out and its what we all want but honestly, like I said, I want the guy we take at #21 (if we take a guy at #21) to be a guy that contributes to the Packers in 2014.

It is a good point sschind. A true contributor on D. Yep. That's what I want. Again.

Sad that this is so true. To me, Datone was super underwhelming, Perry never really materialized into the player I had hoped, Worthy never showed, Daniels rocked, but Hayward, our only real success on D couldn't contribute this year. Mike Neal seems a square peg in any round hole.

Thank God for Micah Hyde. Slow, but a sure instinctive defender and returner. So, 2 good contributors out of that bunch? Nevermind Raji & Matthews? Wow.

Ted has to do a better job.

beast (36m) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (36m) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (10h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (10h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (12h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (13h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.

dfosterf (14h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (15h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (15h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (15h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (15h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (15h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
