We all know what a good defense looks like here and this ain't it. We just gotta hope and pray it is enough to keep us in the game.

the title of this thread is missing something. It should also read, "McCarthy needs to step it up and quit being stubborn and call the best game of his life." Otherwise, this will be another game he is outcoached

Wade Phillips would be a good pickup at defensive coordinator if you ask me.

The biggest problem with this weak ass defense we've been running is it is only successful when getting turnovers. Well, we're not getting the turnovers, so that's why it looks so bad. Also, it is a very weak defense up the middle, very weak.

Jolly is on IR. Neal is needed at OLB. Daniels is undersized (for 3-4 run clogging) and the rest are back-ups / rotation guys at the moment.

I doubt they do it but I'm still a bit interested in trying the Wade Phillips scheme idea at some point... (not interested in Wade Phillips per say just the scheme idea).

Basically put your run clogging DL at DE (Pickett/Raji) and put you best interior penetrator at NT (Daniels) and ask the penetrator to get into the back field and make a play on the ball. (Of course you got to make sure an ILB is watching the penetrator because if he misses there is a BIG BIG hole up the middle. But think Daniels at times has flashed the physical skill to dominate, that's better than we've seen from the other DL.

Not sure you first run this in a playoff game either, I'm thinking no you don't...

First let's not make the mistake that Raji and Pickett are effective run stuffers anymore. We need an infusion of real talent on the Dline, inside linebacker, and safety. So pretty much the whole draft again. It's getting sickening.
