I said several times before that I don't necessarily mind a loss, I just can't stand getting embarrassed. The Packers played a decent game today, but they definitely didn't get embarrassed. They showed they belonged in the playoffs, but they just lost. The 49'er's are the better team, but a lot of that has to do with the difference in health between the two. The Packers just can't stay healthy, and it's unbelievably annoying. If I had any say so in the Packers organization, I would make player health the TOP priority in the off season. I understand there's not much anyone could do about most of the injuries, but if there's anything that could be done, it needs to be researched and attempted. The Packers aren't likely to go anywhere if they keep getting injured like they have the past couple of seasons.

The Packers defense played good enough to win the game, for the most part. Unfortunately, so did the 49'er's defense, which was no surprise to me. The offense needed to score more, especially on that last drive. The Packers needed a TD, not a field goal, but once again, they couldn't capitalize in the red zone. Credit the 49'er's defense, but if this team ever wants to become champions again, they can't leave those points on the field.

That was indeed a better, superior team that we played yesterday. In all phases of the game. They are better coached, more talented, and healthier than our Packers. Until we make some serious changes in all of those areas, we will be the inferior team. The Green Bay Packers must make big changes across this board: coaching, talent, overall health.

What made me mad was that Rodgers was trying to force the deep ball all night. Then when Jones gets behind everyone Rodgers under throws the ball. He could've dinked and dunked with the way we were running the ball to get into FG range. Crosby looked like he could've hit 40-45 yard FG's all day.

I only saw the second half, and I missed several of the games this season, but here's some opinion anyway:

1. I'm going to be harping "OL OL OL" and "OL DL OL DL OL" a lot again this off-season.
2. This is not a Super Bowl contending team.
3. I swear, the only way the Packers D would play well between the hashmarks would be if the Competition Committee moved the hashmarks to about 2 feet apart and required NT/ILB/S to play between them at all times.
3a. And even then Brad Jones and Morgan Burnett would take bad angles and miss tackles.
4. I was correct when I thought giving Brad Jones a big contract was dumb.
5. I was correct when I objected to the draft of Nick Perry.
6. I will be seriously pissed if BJ Raji gets more than the vet minimum.
7. It might be time to let one of my favorite players, Ryan Pickett, go, too. 😞
8. Was it me, or were there huge gaps between the three DL whenever Kaepernick got the big runs?
9. Even *I* knew they were going to run Cobb on that play at the 9 yard line.

However,

10. I was really wrong about Eddie Lacy. 😮

The OTs played piss poor football yesterday. I can count a few times Rodgers held onto the ball too long but for the most part, the Niners were easily getting pressure on or getting to Rodgers. Can't have that. Two big drops by James Jones...underthrown, maybe...but the ball hit him in the hands and that's enough to place blame on both.

I used to enjoy Cobb taking hand offs. That was BEFORE we had the duo of Lacy and Starks. Aside from that play call in the redzone, there were plenty of other bad play calls throughout the game and that has been a huge flaw of McCarthy's this season.

Defense played a decent game. They set the offense up to win the game a few times and the offense failed them. Yes, they gave up some big plays (here come the excuses), but when you are down your best defensive player in Matthews and your best CB in Shields with a team that already has a lack of QB pressure (aside from Mike Daniels) and a bad secondary...shit will happen. It blows my mind how many times Kaepernick RAN for a first down on a 3rd down attempt.

Odd season. A lot of us didn't even expect the Packers to be in the playoffs. They played a good game yesterday. For some reason, I am just not as mad as I usually get about a Packers loss.
