Actually the NFL correlates really well to real life. Clay Matthews is a privileged player that gets a lot of free passes. If he was one of our "just a guys" there's no way anybody would be cutting him an ounce of slack. Look how hard all of us are on the star that never was AJ Hawk - who will be suiting up on Sunday. As a Packer fan and "owner" I'm calling for Clayroids to get his ass in there and play on Sunday.

Maybe he helped us win some of these last few games but getting his ass out there like you say is why we wont have him for the playoffs now. Another week or 2 resting may have meant hed be healthier and more effective for the next couple weeks. Thats why as an "owner" your opinion still means absolutely zilch in reality.

I still don't get why he can't "club up" and play. I don't expect him to intercept a ball anyway but he can certainly tackle a ball carrier or sack Cutler. Or did the broken thumb aggravate his hamstring too.

The lack of use is why he went from the huge club to the brace that exposed his fingers. They had to wait to go to the brace for his thumb to strengthen to minimize the risk of a re-injury and consequently potentially causing PERMANENT damage to his thumb.

I was thinking they would put a cast over the thumb, immobilizing it so it couldn't be broken again or anything. That's what I would have wanted done. Cast it up so the thumb can't move regardless of what I do to it so I could play without thinking about my thumb and at least be able to use the fingers to grab and throw Tackle's off to the side.

I guess it's easier for us fans to get hung up on the money they make and ignorantly bypass that they have a life after football that each player would like to be of high quality, especially if they are going to have a family or have one already. Not everyone wants to be Larry McCarren.

Well, considering this is a twice broken thumb in this same season, I'd rather we have Neal and Mulumba get their shots, along with Nick Perry if he is healthy enough to go. We all saw what Clay could do with the club earlier, and his play suffered as a result of not being able to get a grip. He didn't start making plays until that thing was removed for a lighter brace. Maybe Clay returns towards the end of the playoffs if we somehow find ourselves there.

Until then, I'm happy to see his reps go to some other players who might make a positive difference on our defense. Now is the time for them to really step up and make a name for themselves. Great opportunity for these guys.
