I keep reading questions asking if MM has lost this team or not... but I'm not sure it's MM that's lost it as much as the players that are suppose to lead this team.

The last time they went all the way, they had a clear leader in the lockerroom who would speak up and call out others by the name of Charles Woodson.

In first half against the Cowboys they looked extremely bad, then one player speeks up at halftime, a guy who mainly plays special teams and they play amazingly in the second half. One players spoke up and everything changed?

Bill Walsh had the best line on this I’ve ever heard. He said that at some point in the season, the coach has to turn the team over to the team.

Before the season start Matthews promised things would be changed for the better under his leadership and he would call guys out who aren't going hard enough... I don't know what if anything Matthews has done in the lockerroom but this team seems to have lost their heart with out Rodgers and others... they don't seem to care nearly as much if they win or lose.

This team needs a chip on their shoulder, a reason not to play, but a reason to play 110% and they need that reason from someone in leadership... maybe MM need to step up, but it'd probably be even better if this was going from one of the players, one of the leaders on the team.

I believe these things are overstated immensely. I don't question the leadership on this at all, but you have to look at it from an athlete's point of you.

An athlete is a human like you and me. They have a warrior's mentality to impose their will on another human being. They must also correctly execute called plays based on their particular role to the best of their ability.

Each athlete is accountable to himself and the team at the same time. I do not believe an athlete can push beyond his or her capabilities outside of their own personal will. A leader can make others around them better by elevating their play. I believe a team is best served the more players it has that can be their own leader.

The great players are the ones that have that special internal drive and determination, and they work tirelessly to reach the pinnacle of their abilities throughout their career. If you want to be part of a great team, focus on making yourself great and the rest will fall into place.

I loved coach's line at halftime to his team after getting booed at home. He said "[sometimes] it is lonely being a warrior". That was and is a powerful statement to a team going through as much adversity as we have.

That's just bullshit - the original post, I mean - Darkane's is excellent. The team is doing the best it is capable of doing, given the talent level - playing ABOVE expectations in a couple of those games.

Just look at who we have playing in the O Line. It's no wonder the pass blocking is pathetic, and a minor miracle that they have opened as many holes as they have. D Line, the starters are crap; OLB Matthews hurt and the others are what they are, and that ain't much; ILB mediocre talent, but some "heart" plays by Hawk; Crap at the second safety spot; Corners which too much is expected of, generally doing better than expected.

I believe this team had given up in November. But they're back now. At least TRYING to be.

If we can find a way to stop the run on D, we have a chance.

Even Matthews is a shell of himself, it sure seems like when these guys get the national commercials their play goes down
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I don't think there is any Lost the locker room or lack of drive from the team. The team just doesn't seem to have the outspoken leadership we see in some other teams. Jolly was probably the biggest and most flamboyant voice on the defense and I think Finley was actually that type for the offense.

Just seems like none of our players personalities are to be outspoken. They are all more laid back. I don't know if that outspoken player type is needed or not. I've been in enough sporting events myself, and have never been pumped up or driven by speeches, and the Rah Rah players annoyed me more than anything else. I always have been able to drive myself.
