I've never seen the Arizona memorial, though it's definitely on the list of "things to do before I die."
The most moving places I've ever seen are (i) the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington, and (ii) the Vietnam Wall in DC.
My late brother was born on the 7th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
And my dad was among those who enlisted "for the duration" shortly thereafter. Now that's not something you see anymore. Enlisting and re-upping, certainly. But agreeing to go "wherever it takes, however long it takes"? That's something we haven't seen since that generation.
Thanks, Dad.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
