It looks like we are set at QB (as long as Rodgers doesn't get hurt again) and WR and RB. That means we need at least 3 starting O linemen maybe 4 (Sitton may be the only one worth keeping the rest are completely incompetent) 2 starting D linemen if we resign Jolly other wise 3 (because every one we have sucks balls) 3 starting LBs, (Clay is the only one worth keeping the rest are bumbling buffoons) and at least 2 starting DBs probably 3 maybe even 4 (because the ones we have suck worse than our linebackers). By my count that is a minimum of 10 starters that this team has to come up with next year. I will allow that 2 of those starters will be current players who come back from injury ( the only 2 injured guys we have that wouldn't wash out of the arena football league) . That means this team needs to replace 8 guys in the starting lineup with guys that are not on the roster Add to it the backups that need replacing because our current backups suck and it looks like we will need at least 20 new guys on the team. Lets assume Ted Thompson manages to accumulate 10 draft picks and 7 of them make the team. That means we need to sign 13 FAs to make our 53 man roster next year.

All this assumes we can afford to keep the few good players we do have. I also have not factored in a starting TE. I will assume that Crosby and Masthay will be our Kicker and punter again.

Of course our GM sucks so bad that we can probably only count on him hitting on 3 replacements at best in any given year so that means we are on a 7 year rebuilding phase. Of course this does not take into account the players we will lose each year form now so it is plain to see that the solution is to dump Ted Thompson now and replace him with a GM that will go out and get at least 10 free agents and 10 draft picks and will hit on all of them. That is the only way this team will be competitive next year. Oh yeah, and no injuries.

I don't know. We are below average at the moment. As a team, I think it will be next season. We've been exposed.

Take away the sarcasm alert and sschind pretty much nailed it.

The Bears completely rebuilt their bad O Line from last year to fairly decent this year. The Cowboys made over their D Line on the fly this year. It certainly can be done.

Center sure isn't the only thing wrong with the O Line - probably not even the worst. EDS if he isn't out with injury is certainly better than anything we have at either OT and a tossup with Lang.

We maybe need one safety, not two - maybe not even that if Hyde can play there.

Just as all these problems were MASKED before Rodgers was injured, they will go back to being masked when he gets back. The question is whether our GM - so much esteemed by a bunch of blind fools - will see fit to improve things for next season or not. As much as I would like to see Ted Thompson gone, I doubt very much it will happen, so it comes down to what will HE do to improve things? And I think the answer is not much.

But WITH Aaron Rodgers, this team goes from being a pile of shit to being an elite team - based on wins and losses anyway. NO Sarcasm Alert.

Here are our UFAs for next season:
http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/223718881.html

Ryan Pickett
BJ Raji
Jermichael Finley
James Jones
Sam Shields
John Kuhn
Evan Dietrich-Smith
Marshall Newhouse
Andrew Quarless
Johnny Jolly
Robert Francois
Mike Neal
James Starks
CJ Wilson

Out of these 14 players, I would only re-sign 6: Jones, Shields, Quarless, Jolly, Neal and Starks.

Now, looking at our team needs again, we will require upgrades at two S positions, one C position, one RT position, one NT, one DE and probably two LB. That's 8 players right there.

I would ditch Hawk and Jones in a heartbeat. They have proven to completely stink these past 5 weeks. We have GOT to UPGRADE the interior of our defense. This is complete BS. I am sick to death of seeing our D thrashed up the middle both via the pass and run. Hawk and Jones can't cover, and they can't tackle.

That makes it 10 players to upgrade. We had better not count on rookies through the draft and UDFAs alone to pull this off. It can't happen. We are going to have to make a trade or two, and sign a FA or two to really improve these positions.

Add to this some coaching changes, which must take place if we are to improve as a team, and maybe we see the SB again in a couple of years…

Currently, I see us completely outclassed by SEA, SF, NO, CIN, NE, DEN, PHI and maybe DAL, which is frightening. To think Jerry Jones can pull off a better defensive player upgrade than Ted Thompson, not to mention hiring Monte Kiffin to make it happen.
