Those who know Scott Tolzien best were right.Touchdowns or interceptions, his expression doesn't change.

Seems like he's got "it."

But we'll never know if Mike keeps setting him up to fail.

He apparently has a decent arm, decent brain, and adequate legs. That's about all you can expect in a backup. I bet he's better than any of the three Viking QBs.

He has played one game. He needs time. I do believe we have found our backup of the future in Scott. A full off-season will do him and us a world of good.

Or, you could allow him to succeed.

He has good pocket presence. I noticed that before anything. We should be thankful for that first and foremost. Decision making, accuracy, and improved mechanics will come with time. We all should be of the understanding that this was a recently activated practice squad player who started his first game on the road. Give the kid and the coaching staff a break guys! Afterall, we have seen the best QBs in the game throw INTs for touchdowns in similar situations. Kid needs time. We all do. It just came at the worst time...

It's not so much the interceptions that bother me. It's that he threw zero touchdowns AND three interceptions. If he throws more TD's than INT's ... I'd feel better.

Hell yeah, we all will, and that day will come for sure. I feel strongly about that. But, alas, he is on toward his 2nd official start as a NFL QB. Things take time... we just don't have a lot of that right now so the pressure is far higher. Peyton Manning, one of the greatest QBs of all time and a first overall pick selection, threw a league high 28 interceptions his rookie season. It happens. It takes time to get in tune with the intricacies and speed of the game.

Let's also not forget that Tolzien is working with two starting-caliber wide receivers and banged up offensive line. Rodgers can pull that off, no problem...he showed he can play with 1 receiver. To think Tolzien is going to come in and shine is asking a lot. Yes, McCarthy has to put him in a position to succeed but the Packers offense is playing with a practice squad QB, a practice squad WR, a 4th string WR and a 2nd-3rd string TE...add a Newhouse at RT to the list.
