I suggest you go to packers.com and go to Mike McCarthy's Thursday's media conference. At beginning of it, a reporter asked the question why did Mike decided to go from Full pads to just Helmets on Thursday.

Mike said all practices were scripted before the regular season begin. Type of Practice can be changed due various issues at the time that practice was scheduled. Issues such as Health of team and where the team is at that particular time.

Mike said he decided to cut back Thursday practice and not have the team in full pads Thursday due to health of the team and there will be a short week coming up due to Thanksgiving game at Detroit.

He also cut the Thursday practice by 15 minutes. And he brought the team inside near the end of practice, in order to work on some things could be done better inside the Don Hutson Center than outside on practice field. Could be due to weather conditions, practice field conditions .

Mike sometime changes practices during training camp for similar reasons.

Nothing to do with lying to anybody,. He feels he has be flexable with scripted practice schedule that was done many months ago.

Touching base on this thought here, I thought this quote was interesting.

I'd also put money down on this thought. Notice they aren't ruling out Aaron Rodgers right away? Remember Mike McCarthy saying if Rodgers on Saturday says "Coach I'm ready to go" that he'd have to consider having him start?

Adding to that, Tuesday Rodgers said when HE feels he's ready to go, it won't matter what the doctors say.

Asked if team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie will have the final call or if he could insist on playing despite the objections of the medical staff, Rodgers replied, “I’d like to think the latter.”

Rodgers also said he wasn’t worried about the risk of coming back too soon.

“I think I’m going to know when I’m ready to play,” he said. “And I’m going to play.”

ESPN

In the locker room after the game, Franklin said that he was placed on IR because of the concussion, not because of any neck injury. He had been listed on the injury report as having both a concussion and a neck injury.

Asked Friday morning if Franklin was placed on IR because of the neck injury, McCarthy replied, “Yes.”

Didn't like that at all. The first time I took a step back in defending coach.
