Saw no reason to start another thread.

Heyward out "multiple weeks", look for him to be put on IR and Sean Richardson activated.

Just my thinking, but unless Richardson has shown absolutely nothing in practice, he will probably be given a chance.

Bad break for Casey, he is young, there will be other years.

I would keep Hayward on the roster. We have another 7 weeks. Maybe he can return in 5 or 6, and we may need him!

MDJenni Gs or Jerron McMillian could be released to make room for Richardson. Both have underperformed to that level, unfortunately.

All 3 are young guys, just because Jennings and McMillian haven't had the best of years, doesn't mean they won't turn into quality players.

This is the 3rd time Casey has re-aggravated the same injury, at some point the best thing for him and the club is to shut him down and look towards next year.

My opinion is shut him down, he is doing The Packers no good standing on the sidelines for the next several weeks.

We'll see if Ted and Mike think it's time or if they think he can come back.

My thinking was if they could postpone the decision on Hayward for another few weeks, get a better feel for a real prognosis, then we might benefit should he be able to come back before the playoffs, or for the playoffs, and God forbid, should we lose a DB to injury. Doesn't hurt to take some time with this decision if we can.

As for MD Jennings and Jerron McMillian, I'm just really disappointed in their lack of progress. There is no consistency to see in terms of growth as a player. If Richardson were a "go" and they like what they've seen from him and think he could perform better, I would not hesitate to release one of those Jennings/McMillian to make room for him.

Definitely a tough call, but one they may have to make. UDFA Chris Banjo is playing better than both of them to this point. I'm sure Richardson could do as well, if not better, with his size and speed. Plus, the Richardson kid is hungry!

Saving Hayward on the roster could prove beneficial if we were to lose another DB in these next 7 weeks, depending on a realistic timetable for his return. I do agree, if he won't be able to suit up for another 3 months, shut him down.

Appreciate the point of view, not quite sure when they have to make the deicision on Richardson, I think they have at least 1 more week.

What really sucks is that the decision that will be made will most likely be decided on who can or cannot play in a week.

Packers luck with injuries should turn around soon, law of averages say so!!!! 🙂

Hayward started slow last season, first 3 games had zero INTs and just one PD. But he came on like gang busters the rest of the way, finishing with 6 INTs and 21 PDs. Figure, with little confidence in his own hammy, that will affect a player. Maybe, maybe we can get him back healthy. If they see it will take too long, meaning more than 8 weeks, yeah, IR seems to be in his future for sure. Hopefully, something good happens here. We need it!

Cheers!

beast (9h) : I thought the pro game was before the Super Bowl?
packerfanoutwest (9h) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (10h) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (11h) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (11h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (11h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (11h) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (11h) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (11h) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (11h) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (11h) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (11h) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (11h) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (11h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (12h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (12h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (12h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (12h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (12h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (12h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (12h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (12h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (12h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (12h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (12h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (12h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (12h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (13h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : KC jumped and they call it on Eagles. WTF refs
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : If he was offside why did you let him pop the QB?
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : I like that Eagles are controlling time of possession so far.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : If the Eagles are going to win, this is how they do it: jump all over the Chiefs and don't let it turn into a close one
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Bad throw created that penalty.
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Amazed Philly got that hit to the helmet call.
