Poll Question: Packers should

We won't know squat about Aaron Rodgers until probably Wednesday so lets have some fun debate. Who do you think the Packers should sign or bring up or ...

I'm actually going to do something I never thought I'd do and say Packers should sign Brett Favre. I don't think he can last a full season, and he doesn't want to get hit so it's not going to happen. However, I think it would be the PERFECT fit. He knows the offense. I'd have to think many fans who begrudged him for playing with the Vikings would soften their grudge even more if he comes in an gets the Packers three wins in four games.

And when Aaron Rodgers comes back, can you imagine a better backup than Brett Favre?

Flynn. Of course. The guy played lights-out with us before. He can do it again if need be. We have to have somebody backing up Wallace.

As for Favre, I could maybe see it on some levels. It would be one hell of a story. Bringing him back into the fold of Packers Nation would be a riot. I don't know how good he would be, but I'm sure he could still make some throws.

From a purist standpoint, who can run McCarthy's system better? Flynn or Favre? I would say Flynn. Plug him in and we could be off to the races, if he could shake off all of the funk from his FA experiences. It was just two years ago that he set all-time Packers records. I think Flynn would be the guy who would get the job done. I question whether Favre would get the job done, but it might be way more fun to watch him try.

This is a great topic.

Personally, I would love to see Favre have a successful return with the Packers, which would mean him leading us into the playoffs, and that's pure nostalgia ringing there... It would be remarkable. It is possible Rodgers has a busted clavicle. That would take a solid 8 weeks to heal, but possibly less. Maybe we get Rodgers back for the playoffs in this scenario, if we can still make it there. I do think either of Favre or Flynn could be the guide.

Tank for Teddy!

Having Favre in the locker room with Rodgers would be a disaster for team chemistry. Although I thought it was funny when Favre said he had Rodgers in his FF league haha.

Oh man how I wish the Vikings were competitive this year. We'd actually have a shot at winning the division now. Figures Rodgers would go down when we're having the worst season in team history.

Hey and look on the bright side, you face 3 struggling teams the next 3 games.

vs Philadelphia
at N.Y. Giants

That's not much of a list.

I put Vince Young, B.J. Coleman, and Tim Tebow ahead of any of those. I even put Graham Harrell up there after all on the list except Tolzien.

Matt Flynn.

It may very well be worth an experiment. Here is a guy who is short on confidence, but was nothing less than a stellar backup during his years here.

Perhaps the right environment and a system he recognizes well will be just the tonic.

However, I don't see why they'd discount Seneca Wallace unless he's been given a full week to prove he is not ineffectual.

To me, suggesting Favre is akin to suggesting Montana or Starr.

I just don't know if you can trust him.

If you can, I would consider it.

What better way to prove his value than coming in as the White Knight?

Brett doesn't hate the Packers. He hates that his fear of being replaced came to fruition.
