GREEN BAY — James Jones isn't much of a gambler, so the Green Bay Packers veteran wide receiver wasn't heading over to the Oneida Casino after practice Saturday.

Nor was he predicting whether or not he'll play in Monday night's game against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

"I'm not a betting man. I don't know," Jones said after practicing on a limited basis for the third straight day. "I felt good, but if I was a betting man, I don't know, 50/50. "

Jones hasn't played since suffering a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his left knee during the Packers' Oct. 13 victory at Baltimore, and he could miss his third straight game due to the injury, coach Mike McCarthy said.

"He did a little more than yesterday, so we'll see where he is," McCarthy said. "Frankly, it's up in the air, but he's doing everything he can."

"(I) did some more today, felt pretty good. We'll see how my knee reacts coming in tomorrow, (hopefully) get no swelling or anything like that," Jones said. "(I) felt good, so we'll see. I don't know if I'll go this week, next week, but felt better. Felt a little better about that, so excited about that."

Meanwhile, Brad Jones practiced in full for the third straight day and is expected to be active for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury on Oct. 6 against Detroit. Inside linebackers coach Winston Moss indicated that Jones will resume his starting role even though Jamari Lattimore played well during the three games he missed.

"Brad is healthy now and we'll insert Brad in and if there's going to be a change from there, then those decisions will be collectively discussed with coach Dom (Capers) and coach McCarthy and so forth and will make decisions then. But right now, Brad seems to be practicing well, looks healthy and we'll go from there."

Asked if both Jones and Lattimore could play — perhaps Jones in the base defense and Lattimore in sub packages — Moss replied, "I think that's a media question; I think you answered your own question. I think you could do anything you wanted to do. The choice is whether you see we do that. As of right now, there's no plans for that."

In Chicago, in a surprise to no one, Briggs and Cutler were officially ruled out.
