Pretty stats.

Whats really hurting is the redzone offense scoring efficiency, which I believe both Mike McCarthy and Rodgers have touched on over the past week and have said they aren't worried about it. They can get to the redzone, but they aren't scoring touchdowns.

NFL Team Red Zone Scoring Percentage (TD only):
Right now, they are sitting at 14th with a 56.25% which of course, isn't terrible but sitting about 12% lower than last year at the moment.

Here is a stat I am really fond of right now and reason being, we have faced four teams with a top runningback (maybe the Bengals are the exception, but still a good run team)...

NFL Team Opponent Rushing Yards per Game:
Packers are ranked 5th in the league with an average of 86 yards per game. They averaged 132.6 in 2012.

Run defense is UP, pass defense is down. Shouldn't be too much of a shock as our DBs have been injured. I think it will only go up from here.

NFL Team Opponent Passing Yards per Game:
Packers are ranked 26th in the league with an average of 288 yards per game. They averaged 216.9 yards per game in 2012.

The Pack got up pretty good on the next three opponents and really any chance in the second half of those games was for the opposing team to put it in the air.

Not condoning what these teams put up and we should have finished teams off better but if we are up as much as we have been by mid third quarter the other team is just going to pass the ball the rest of the way.

Without knowing the answer to this I would venture to say the pass defense numbers for the first half of these first four games probably looks pretty respectable. I think it's safe to say a big number of second half passing yards shows up especially when Capers throws that goofy three man front up there. The only thing that's good for is the opposing QB's stats from what I see.

It's not really surprising we are so close to the top in those offensive categories - and that is after playing well below the level the Packers IMO are capable of offensively. The surprising thing is that our defense is so far down. Things seemed to be somewhat improved this season. This kinda illustrates how really bad our D was the past couple of years. I guess there is still a long ways to go.

I'm confident the offense will get even better, and I'm hopeful the defense will get a little bit better too, even with Matthews out, if nothing else because the upcoming competition appears to be not so hot.

Break down the game one by one and it is not as bad as it seems on defense.

It's been well written The Packers game plan against The 49r's was to contain Koepernick and make him beat them with his arm. Well tip your hat to him, he did.

Didn't help that Burnette practiced all week then re-aggravated his hammy on Thursday not allowing McMillian and Jennings to take reps with the starters.

The Packers dominated The Redskins for 3 quarters only to give up a bunch of garbage yardage in the 4th quarter when it seemed Mike took his foot off the pedal.

Bengals game really shows that The Packers offense inability so far to put the ball in the end zone, 4 straight Bengal turnovers and the offense could only muster 6 points, but they did get things rolling the 2nd half, took a fluke play, multiple injuries, and a rookie fumble for The Bengals to pull it out. SO IS LIFE IN THE NFL

Although a little boring in the 1st half, I liked what we saw out of The Packers against The Lions, good solid defense(except 1 garbage drive at end of game).
The Offense seems to be in a little transition, if teams have to start planning for The Packers run game, look out...Air Rodgers will be back and better than ever!!!

2 keys, improve RED ZONE td's and get the turnover ration into the + column, those 2 things happen and it is going to be fun to watch the rest of the year.

This done with a completely revamped OL with rookie LT and 2nd year RT.

I know the red zone stuff has been subpar, but given the newness of key players to the system and the importance of their roles, I'd consider this a great start.

And Yerko, those defensive numbers are encouraging as well. Great improvement on run D. Pass D needs some work, but should improve.

What I really, REALLY want to see is a gigantic increase in takeaways by our D. Time for these guys to make some picks, strip some balls.

beast (5h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (22h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
