Burnett has evolved into a leader in Packers' secondary

Tramon Williams entered the 2010 season salivating at the thought of Nick Collins and Morgan Burnett playing next to one another in the Green Bay Packers' secondary.

By pairing the three-time Pro Bowler with the promising third-rounder, the Packers appeared to have their safety situation locked up for the next five or six years.

However, that dream never came true. The duo played only six games together. Burnett tore his anterior cruciate ligament four games into his rookie year. The following year, Collins suffered a career-ending neck injury in Week 2.

Without Collins, the 24-year-old Burnett has had to get used to playing next to a rotating collection of colleagues from veterans like Charles Woodson and Charlie Peprah to current teammates M.D. Jennings and Jerron McMillian.

Burnett has shown promise since he got here and I am thrilled to see he has taken the reigns and shined in this role. He is a very coachable player and talented guy. Everyone wants him to be the next Collins. I don't see that happening, but he a good player that is still improving. I couldn't ask for more right now.
