Green Bay --- No player on the Green Bay Packers' roster improved more from Year 1 to Year 2 than wide receiver Randall Cobb.

He became a go-to weapon for Aaron Rodgers, a weapon the Packers used all over the field. And moments before taking off on the Packers' annual Tailgate Tour Tuesday, Cobb said he has another level to reach.

“I really don’t think I’ve peaked yet," Cobb said. "I’m 22 years old. I’ve got a lot of learning still to do. I have a long way to go and I just hope I continue to get better over the next years.”

I hope not, it's only his third year.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

How was he suppose to peak playing behind Jennings? Not retaining Greg Jennings is going to be a blessing in disguise, just maybe not this season.

Cobb has superior athletic ability, now we'll just see if he can get down the precision of route running, which was GJ's strength, but you don't pay Larry Fitzgerald money to a precision route runner. I can't believe the contracts that GJ and Wallace received this season.

I would much rather have the precision passer than the precision route runner. Fortunately, we just locked that guy up long term to the dismay of our divisional foes.

The Packers weren’t planning on Randall Cobb having as much of a role as he had last year. But now that the marginalized-in-2012 Donald Driver’s retired and the oft-injured Greg Jennings has moved onto Minnesota, they’re counting on Cobb like never before. And he wants more. The 22-year-old wideout said he’s looking forward to a bigger

He's such a gifted player. Last year, I argued keeping Driver was a mistake because they needed to incorporate Cobb more into the offense. Jennings' injury gave him that opportunity, nonetheless. I only expect him to improve, as with Jennings gone, Mike McCarthy can begin to build the entire offense around him. I'm knocking on wood, but I think he has a chance to break Packer records.

I think Randall Cobb can eclipse those numbers. He's already tied Jennings' high mark for receptions at 80 (2008 GJ - 80 in 139 targets, 1292 yds, 9 TDs) just last season, going 80 receptions in 104 targets for 954 yds, an 11.9 yd average and 8 TDs, and he did it in only 15 games, in his 2nd season. Those are good numbers.

Make no mistake, Greg Jennings was prolific. He had 12 TDs in his 2nd season, and had a nice 5 year run with 3 of those going for over 1000 yds, the other two just off that mark. But, I think you are right DakotaT. Cobb never seemed to be the #1WR at any point these past two seasons, unlike Jennings.

The big difference is Cobb will be more highly featured this season. At least, I would imagine so. That could bode well for him and for the Packers. I wish we could have kept Jennings, but Cobb may be better. We shall see. The contract $ are astronomical. Ted seems to be doing well in the value dept. That is a lot of talent to rotate through the system and to pay for. Quite a juggling act.

We need to be very careful when the time comes to sign him for a huge amount or not.

I think there's only like 5 or 6 guys on the team right now younger than Cobb. That's crazy considering he's heading into his 3rd season.

TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Looks like we signed Clayton Tune as QB3
wpr (27-Aug) : TKT people lose their minds over QB3. Point is almost none of them are ready that's why they are on the PS and other teams don't take them.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Unfortunately he doesn't seem ready to be an emergency QB.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : As a Canadian and a follower of Canadian University football. I am rooting for him
dfosterf (27-Aug) : I bet a lot of us will follow the Taylor Elgersma journey with interest. Personally, got a Kurt Warner vibe goin' on. I like him

dfosterf (27-Aug) : Clayton Tune cut by the Cards? Don't know if that's the guy, we shall see

beast (27-Aug) : I think Cowboys fans are ready to get their pitch forks and burning sticks if Jerry were to trade Micah
dfosterf (27-Aug) : If Jerry traded Micah to GB, here in northern Va. they would have to quick build yet another data center to handle the internet hate traffic
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : its signing and trades that you don't hear about, other then announced
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : If you hear rumors about Packers sign or trade, won't happen. Not how they work
dfosterf (27-Aug) : 19 players in a contract year. Jones called loss to us worst loss in Cowboy history. Forget Parsons trade. Not happenin' Cap'n
packerfanoutwest (27-Aug) : The Packers, meanwhile, are the youngest team in the league for the third consecutive year.
dfosterf (27-Aug) : That it was darkest before the dawn in Bengals and Commanders before they got deals done
Zero2Cool (27-Aug) : what is Schefter saying?
dfosterf (27-Aug) : He was getting Dorito infusion therapy
dfosterf (27-Aug) : He's outta shape. Why, just the other day I saw him splayed out on the trainers table
Mucky Tundra (27-Aug) : Parsons has followed Rasheed Walker on Twitter. Quite the choice
Mucky Tundra (27-Aug) : Kuhn is a former player who works for the team, if somethings going down, he would be close to it
Mucky Tundra (27-Aug) : @kuhnj30 Micah Freaking Parsons
Mucky Tundra (27-Aug) : A LOT of buzz on the Bird App regarding Parsons; even Schefter is saying it's serious
dfosterf (26-Aug) : *Orzech*
