Green Bay --- No player on the Green Bay Packers' roster improved more from Year 1 to Year 2 than wide receiver Randall Cobb.

He became a go-to weapon for Aaron Rodgers, a weapon the Packers used all over the field. And moments before taking off on the Packers' annual Tailgate Tour Tuesday, Cobb said he has another level to reach.

“I really don’t think I’ve peaked yet," Cobb said. "I’m 22 years old. I’ve got a lot of learning still to do. I have a long way to go and I just hope I continue to get better over the next years.”

Cobb has superior athletic ability, now we'll just see if he can get down the precision of route running, which was GJ's strength, but you don't pay Larry Fitzgerald money to a precision route runner. I can't believe the contracts that GJ and Wallace received this season.

I would much rather have the precision passer than the precision route runner. Fortunately, we just locked that guy up long term to the dismay of our divisional foes.

2010 was Greg Jennings' most efficient/productive year, with 76 receptions on 125 targets for 1265 yds, a 16.6 yd average and 12 TDs, and a long of 86 yds. I think Randall Cobb can eclipse those numbers. He's already tied Jennings' high mark for receptions at 80 (2008 GJ - 80 in 139 targets, 1292 yds, 9 TDs) just last season, going 80 receptions in 104 targets for 954 yds, an 11.9 yd average and 8 TDs, and he did it in only 15 games, in his 2nd season. Those are good numbers.

Make no mistake, Greg Jennings was prolific. He had 12 TDs in his 2nd season, and had a nice 5 year run with 3 of those going for over 1000 yds, the other two just off that mark. But, I think you are right DakotaT. Cobb never seemed to be the #1WR at any point these past two seasons, unlike Jennings.

The big difference is Cobb will be more highly featured this season. At least, I would imagine so. That could bode well for him and for the Packers. I wish we could have kept Jennings, but Cobb may be better. We shall see. The contract $ are astronomical. Ted seems to be doing well in the value dept. That is a lot of talent to rotate through the system and to pay for. Quite a juggling act.
