Unless Harris really craps the bed in TC I don't see Starks beating him for a spot. The real question is if they keep 4 RBs and if so is it going to be Green or Starks? I could see 4 RB+Kuhn for the season if they want some insurance for Lacy by creating roster spots by trimming the TE count down to 3 (JM, Quarless and DJ/Mulligan/Taylor).

I like this, and then replace Kuhn with a pancaking fullback. It's too early to dump Green, but he is not a between the tackles runner - he needs to be used in space like sweeps and screens.

I think you have to wait and see how they play in training camp.

If Starks is 100%, I still think he's better than Harris and Green... but if he gets injured again he's good as gone. And if he gets banged up... then it goes to the judges (aka the coaches) and I'm thinking they're gonna say gone unless he clearly looked like one of the best they got.

Green has a lot of physical talent and was getting better at reading his blocks (which he really struggled to do coming out) ... but he got that knee injury and his burst was gone... the question is ... did he get his burst back or not? ... if not he's probably gone. If he got it back I think he could make it but it's going to be an uphill battle for him.

Harris might be little but he stacked at 5'7" 203lbs and he runs low which gives him more power than one would expect. He's small, which means he can get though smaller holes. Great burst and goes north/south which I LOVE.

I think Harris and the two rookies will make it if healthy. Maybe a 4th guy if Starks or Green can get 100% healthy and stay that way... but right now I'm doubting that.

I think Starks and Green are both in trouble with their injury history and inability to shoulder the load. The knock on Harris is that he can't block at all, but he's gifted enough to find a role for certain plays. Unless Green and Starks are 100% and look good in pre-season, I think both are gone and it will be Harris and the two tookies on the roster.

I do not think Alex Green has what it takes from what I've seen of him. As for John Kuhn, I really have no opinion of him. Do the Packers need a fullback or could a tight end service those duties? If the latter is true, is that tight end on the roster already? John Kuhn 1.8 million + $450,000 for 2013 seems kinda high, although I think he's the punt protector too, right? I think the Packers keep Kuhn for his versatility. He can, at times, get third and short, he's a good dump off receiving threat and I believe he's a good pass protector.

Back to half backs ... currently the Packers have these fellas on the roster.

This is my 'depth' order.
• Eddie Lacy
  • Johnathan Franklin
  • DuJuan Harris
  • James Starks
  • Alex Green
• Starks will be cut because of a training camp hamstring or tampon string issue.
Green will be cut because he'll have lost a lot of speed from the ACL. Perhaps he'll be on the PUP if eligible, or IR?

Harris will be given a chance. (A side note to those who might be confused as to which Harris I am referring to- Since DuJuan's name is in the title of the thread I will assume most reasonable persons already know who I am talking about. I assume they realize I am not talking about Al Harris or Franco Harris. Future references to other rbs on the team may also deal with their last name only. Should you become confused as to who they are simply consult the roster.)

Back to the subject at hand. Even though he will get his chance in TC, I don't see Harris getting a lot of reps on the field but he will make the team. Uncle Teddy will not want to invest a lot of money in a seldom used #3 rb. Green will be kept as he has not really had a chance to show what he can do but may well be 4th on the depth chart. Kuhn and Starks are the bubble players who will be sent packing.

Yes I put Kuhn in this post because he is really a rb who has been playing fb for the past few years.

You suggest consulting the roster, yet do not provide a link? Lazy, pure lazy. Anyhow.

I struggle thinking of John Kuhn as half back, full back or tight end exclusively. He's like one of those knives that has many uses. I don't see him being cut/replaced this season.

I'm thinking the running backs will be

    HB Eddie Lacy
    HB Johnathan Franklin
    HB DuJuan Harris
    FB John Kuhn
