This is a first. *I* am the one bringing a thread back on track...

Re: Giants game a must win. I hope not, because I have a bad feeling about this one.

Much as I get annoyed by this generation of Mannings, this is the kind of game where Eli Manning excels. Plus the Giants are coming off a bye, and IIRC they, unlike the Packers, tend to come off their byes ready to take no prisoners.

And our OL is...well, our OL.

My guess is that, after last weeks mediocre performance, McCarthy and Rodgers will have the team in "1, 2, 3...DOMINATE!" mode. But still, I worry.

Fortunately, this is NOT a must-win game, not with the likes of Minnesota (Ponder? hahahha), Chicago (still suck!), and Detroit (hahhaha) in four of the remaining five games?

Even with a loss to the Gints, the Pack will go at worst 4-2 the rest of the season. And that'll be good enough for at worst the 4th seed. The Gints would likely get the three seed. Though they've got games against Washington, Atlanta, and Baltimore, all of which could be losses, that would s till put them in position to win head-to-head tiebreaker with GB.

The Packers need to win if they want to get a playoff bye. But personally, I like their chances better if they don't get that playoff week off.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. As far as you'd like the Giants @ Packers game... it seems like the road team has been winning that game most of the time lately. Packers go to NY (or NJ I should say), and they win. NY comes to GB and they win.

Green Bay needs to consciously take that back. Some way. Somehow. I think winning out, or close to it this season will help us get there.

Hey, get a painting crew in the visiting locker room pronto, and paint that sucker pink. Why not? Hey, it would be a start IMO. The Packers organization should be looking at every little thing that they themselves can change in order to make this an unenjoyable place for the opposition to play.

My feeling is that they have gone a bit overboard in making Lambeau too friendly. Our opponents should fear coming here.

Assuming they win those two, all they have to do is split the 4 games against the Bucs (2x), Saints and Giants to get to 13-3. San Fran should be able to finish with 11 or 12 wins. That means we'd have to go at least 5-1 to have a shot at the 2 seed.

Oh, under your scenario where the Giants lose to Washington, Atlanta and Baltimore they finish 9-7. We'd only need 3 more wins to finish in the 3rd seed, and that's where I think we'll be, hosting either Chicago or Seattle before a trip to San Fran.

But the Giants have a tough schedule left with the Packers, Falcons, Ravens the hot Saints and a game against the Redskins. It's possible they could still lose their division and might miss the playoffs... (or might get the 6th seed and have to face the 49er if they get the 3rd seed. )

Yeah, I just want them to turn that around. The only way to do that is meet your nemesis head on, and take him down! On our turf! I'd like for the Packers to put that shit to bed and bring back our home field advantage. I don't care who we face.

This is actually one of the few games that I am not stressing. A loss here does not hurt us too bad in my eyes. I also am thinking about last year where the playoff bye week may have actually hurt us. Also, the last five years have shown that home field has become more of a disadvantage for this team in the playoffs and that is sad.

While I understand what they are saying, I don't know that I agree with the premise.

Instead, I think this is an important measuring stick game right now, one in which it will really lay out the Packers must do the remainder of the season to make the run they want to. In fact, I think if they blow out the Giants it will actually be counter productive to the Packers end goal.

We need to be a hungry and aggressive team, I think as long as this game is close and well played, win or lose it will fit the Packers needs moving forward. I actually think a blowout loss would be better than a blowout win in terms of the Packers mindset.

We are what we are in terms of an offensive line, so now we have to gameplan to protect it as much as we can when we face fast defensive fronts.

I stand that this game being what it is, a blowout loss, will be more of a benefit than a blow out win. I don't like having to watch this type of ass kicking.. but I think this wakes up the team that we have to step up the physical effort.

The Giants going for it twice on fourth down should just fuel it.. if it doesn't, well then, this team will be sitting home in Feb.

beast (1m) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (1m) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (9h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (9h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (12h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (13h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (13h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you
wpr (14h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (14h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (14h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (14h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (14h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (14h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (15h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (15h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (15h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
