Not movies per se, but the kid catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang used to scare the hell out of me as well. The wicked witch in Oz, as has been mentioned....and the gravy train guys riding around the kitchen in the gravy train commercials too. Minus Chucky, I must not be a fan of miniatures coming to life.

Does it have to be movies or can I add Pack93z's current signature image?

On topic.... a obscure ripoff of the Jaws.. GRIZZLY. I enjoyed hunting as a youth, and this movie played upon the darkness of the woods. Bears, or at least I thought so as a youth.

Yup.

OK, my wife just saw the thread and adds "the Shining!"

I never saw it, but she's seen way more horror movies than I have, so I'll take her word for it.

And no, Zero, she won't add an account. She thinks we're all weirdos. I have no idea where she got that idea. 🤔

There was a "Dracula" movie back in the 1960's. I don't remember which one it was, but it scared me so bad (I must have been around 6 or 7)that from the time i saw it till i was in my teens i couldn't sleep unless my covers were covering my neck. Somehow, covers were "magical" and could stop a vampire from biting you![grin1]

I'd have to agreee with RajiRoar about Dante's Peak. Not that the film itself was scary, but it was entirely filmed in Wallace, Idaho, which we travel through about 8-10 times a year going over to Spokane. All the places filmed were real and the mountain that was Dante's Peak actually is looking right over Wallace. They did digitally add the top volcano part of the peak though.

The highway that collapsed in the movie is I-90 and everytime I travel over that raised section I'm waiting for an earthquake to flatten it. That valley that Wallace, Mullen, and Kellogg ID. sit in is called the Silver Valley and there are still about a dozen large, active silver mines working the valley and surrounding mountains. The whole area is honeycombed with mine shafts and all it will take is a good sized quake and, poof. All gone.

What scared me though is featuring Pierce Bronson in the lead. Nobody over there talks with an English accent. I guess I was just as scared with Mama Mia! Jeez, never let that guy sing. Scared the hell out of me.

I don't watch scary movies. But I remember when the wicked witch of the west hijacked the crystal ball scene with Dorothy looking at her Aunt.

I was so scared I climb up on the couch and sat next to my older sister. I figured no one was tougher or scarier than my sister.

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.

Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line.

Martha Careful (30-Mar) : Is men braiding their hair a new style thing? Watching the NCAA men's tournament many players have done
Zero2Cool (29-Mar) : Ha. Well, it'd be nice for folks to reset their own password. Via validated email 😏
