Wait... didn't I hold that opinion in the Jennings "last year" thread. [grin1]

I posted on Greg's facebook page that he should shut his mouth and just play the game. Remember what happened to the last Diva in Green Bay, he became hated by many. I even stated we understand that this will probably be his last year in Green Bay because he will want to be overpaid.

I personally won't cry if Jennings leaves next year and don't think he deserves the big bucks. He is no where near the likes of Megatron or Larry Fitz. Well will just replace him with another receiver like Cobb or even maybe someone in the draft next year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Lol, everyone is so quick to jump on the bandwagon of hating a player who's been nothing but class for years.

Are we talking about Jennings getting his junk grabbed, or Jennings possibly not being a Packer after this season?

There has been a lot of Jennings hate lately, but I don't know how this article is adding to it. It's obvious Gregorious was joking and this wasn't some backhanded response to our fanbase.

I still love Jennings and him being realistic about his contract being up and the gross overpaying of minimally talented receivers is definitely not gonna change that. Good, classy, and loyal players leave our team because we can't afford to keep them all, but I'm still pulling for resigning Jennings.

For the record, I don't have any issue with Greg voicing his opinion upon this topic.. personally, I think the leap has passed its prime.

Additionally.. I don't think him discussing his contract is going to have a direct effect on this weekends game.. but I do believe it will become and issue someplace within the season.

Anyway.. are the people grabbing junk intentionally or just grabbing a hold of anything they can get a hold of to keep the player in the stands?

Another thought upon the topic.. if Greg thinks that is bad.. get at the bottom of a scrum upon the field.. that is obscene.

Jennings is a class act, good WR and an asset to the team. But what most are saying is if it comes down to Greg Jennings OR both Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji, the Packers should let Jennings walk and keep both Matthews and Raji.

The Facebook comment was, in my opinion, over board.

Personally, I hope he remains VERY attached to his locker. Greg has very much been 'Packers People' during his career.

Greg Jennings suspends talks

Updated: September 9, 2012, 11:23 AM ET
By Adam Schefter | ESPN

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will not pursue any type of contract extension with Green Bay during the regular season, according to someone familiar with the situation.

The two sides talked throughout the offseason and made little progress, and Jennings doesn't want negotiations to be a distraction. He wants to concentrate on his on-field production and helping the Packers to reach the postseason.

But with a contract that expires after the season, he also now looks to be one of the top free agents, if not the top free agent, in the Class of 2013.

"I'm not worried about whether I'm going to end up here or whether I'm getting a contract done," Jennings said this week. "That will take care of itself. Right now, my (mind) is on the 49ers, and it will be on the next opponent and the next opponent after that. If I'm here, I would love to be here. If I'm not, it is what it is.

"At the end of the day I'm going to play football, I'm going to play 100 percent every single snap. This is my locker, I want this to be my locker until I hang my cleats up and decide I'll give this locker up to someone else."

Jennings is one of several high-profile players the Packers' front office will have to address in the foreseeable future. Outside linebacker Clay Matthews and defensive lineman B.J. Raji come up after the 2013 season, and Aaron Rodgers is vastly outperforming a deal that runs through the end of the 2014 season.

Maybe if Greg Jennings wasn't so worried about his contract, he wouldn't have taken himself out of the game at the end of the 4th quarter. Thanks for the effort!
