It was good to see the starting OL come together and play well. Aaron is ready for the season.

Most disturbing to me was the open receivers against the first unit defense.

Best.. The safeties on the team showed life.. lead by McMillian. Richardson was active as well.

Least: The overall majority of the team looked flat. I maybe could accept it from the vets.. but a ton of the young guys looked ---------------------------.

Second post.

I liked what I seen from Boykins last night..

I am disappointed in Gurley's showing to date this preseason. Nice block on special teams but mostly invisible past that. I haven't noticed him in most sets.

Good point on Boykins, he may be hard to keep off the team. There have been times when he's been open but the pass was uncatchable also.

Best: With Newhouse back line looked solidified, so Aaron could look like Aaron again.

Worst: There are a number of things I could point to, but I'm actually really disturbed by the fact that Cobb keeps turning the ball over. It's starting to become one of those things like James Jones dropping the ball. The guy is so talented, but he HAS to learn to protect the football or he'll be spending a lot more time than he'd like on the bench.

Worst to me was Rodgers diving between defenders for a first down.

Best: D.J. Smith has a nose for the football. I also liked McMillian, but Robert Francois special team coverage stood out. He made the team last night covering kicks.

Worst: It was just one specific play, but Nick Perry's lack of effort was alarming. Brandon Weeden completed a throw over the middle of the field and Perry let up rather than pursuing. The receiver proceeded to run another 20 yards or so. Would he have made the tackle? Maybe not, but no way does Clay Matthews, James Harrison, or any of the premiere OLBs let up on that play. Perry quit and that's very discouraging.

Jared Boykin is a really good receiver. He was easily Virginia Tech's most talented receiver the past few years.

Also, i really like DJ Smith. I think he's the real deal. He looks like a leader out there as well. It seemed like he was in on every single tackle while he was in the game.

I've been fairly happy with our defense this pre-season. I think our pass rush will be improved and so will our secondary if House can become/stay healthy.

We could definitely be a top 15 defense this year.

best: Woodson looked like a natural at S. On the play that CM3 almost got the sack Woody came up to the line at the last moment and picked up the RB coming out to the flat. Since he was covered the QB had to throw the ball away. If he would have been off a little it would have been a pick 6. I thought Woodson timed his coverage very well.

worst: overall play of the backups. Seemed like a lot of them didn't really try or were totally outclassed by the Browns backups.
