Sorry, didn't realize that I am the one always getting off topic, thanks for calling me out the one time I go along with the rest.

I promise to take my Brett Favre poster out of the attic the day his number hits the ring of honor.

I am not calling you out, but Christ, how many times are you going to ignore me saying something about Curly Lambeau before you realize to quit the rant and lets talk CURLY LAMBEAU BABY!! 🙂

I for one do not know the whole story about Curly Lambeau and would really enjoy hearing other peoples thoughts, opinions, facts and such about him. God forbid me wanting to learn more about a Packers legend rather than piss an whine about a recent Packer who will be legend.

I think Ted Thompson has done a heluva job, where you get I hate Ted is a damn mystery to me.

Just because Dhazer opinions are different than mine, doesn't mean I HAVE TO HATE HIM AND BERATE HIM every time he posts. Different opinions are a good thing.

Leave your Brett Favre poster in your attic. He doesn't need you as a fan.

He will walk into The NFL Hall of fame long before his number hits The Packer ring of honor.

It took Terry Bradshaw over 20 years to go back to Pittsburgh.

Not sure how many years it was between Curly leaving Green Bay and having the organization name The field after him.

It may be another 15 years before Brett and the organization come back together, if so that gives you another 15 years to re-write Packer history, and of course feel good about yourself every time you Slam Brett Favre.

Tried to tie in the thread title Zero, just don't know that much about Curly's riff with The Packer organization.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Favre was the one who was butt hurt. He was in a tiff over the fact that Ted wouldn't let him run the franchise anymore. So he decided to try to destroy the Packers, out of spite.

Not so with Edgar Bennett.

In my opinion, his own ego was his worst enemy.
But i'm over it. They can retire his jersey, and i'll clap for him, as i did when he was our QB.

I never "hated" him for going to the Vikings. But i also felt more joy then usual when the Packers beat the Vikings the last 2 games he was their QB.

I don't really care one way or another about Brett, because we have a much better quarterback now. Packer fans don't have to wallow in quarterback purgatory like Dolphin fans do. We have a capable GM.

As for Curly, have nothing to add - I wasn't alive back then.

The financial situation was once again so desperate in 1949 that an intrasquad game was organized for Thanksgiving Day that pulled in enough cash to keep the club afloat. The Packers went 2-10 and the conflict between Lambeau and the team’s directors reached the breaking point. A week before his resignation, the Rockwood Lodge burned down, a symbol of the coming break between founding coach and franchise.

So the Packers scrimmage started way back in 49, and the interesting point is Curly was also into real estate and the insurance agent. So he gets the Lodge and then burns it down maybe lol. Ok maybe not but it struck me funny and made me think maybe he had some investment in the lodge.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I don't make it up. There is plenty of documented evidence. Some of it is circumstantial, but it is pretty overwhelming amounts of circumstantial evidence. Probably enough to win a criminal case if it were one.

Not that I am calling it a criminal case.

Then there is the reality of Favre's playoff performances. Again, not anything that needs to be rewritten. It is all there in black and white in the record books. Or his comeback reputation. Again the myth vs the reality is not rewriting history.

Myth busting is not rewriting. They Myth actually is the rewrite, rather than the reality that exposes it for what it is.

My point about the goat was just how far Favre fans are willing to go to protect the myth. Not that he would actually bugger an UNWILLING goat.
