We're going to be able to put 5 corners and Burnett on the field: Woodson, Williams, Shields, House, and Hayward. That is going to be 6 ball Hawks in the secondary. Bring it offenses.

Woodson should just swallow the pride and move to SS. He plays the line of scrimmage anyway.

Woody moving to safety next year? Assuming Sam Shields & Tramon take over the 1st 2 spots.

Sam Shields as a starter is about as good as Ahmad Carroll starting (both are [were] athletic and fast, but quite raw). Sam may have more potential, but he is no where ready to handle covering top tier players just yet.

2) Woodson is too good to move to Safety. He still can cover most guys, but his greatest value is as Nickle back; he can rush the passer, jump routes for INTs, and, at times, help with tackling. Move him to safety, and you have not only a glaring hole at CB, but you effectively remove your best playmaker from a position he has had a tremendously positive impact on in terms of making plays. Jarret Bush is no where near the Nickel CB Woodson is.

3) As both Capers and Joe Whitt said: Woodson may be playing safety based on the match-up; they like to utilize Charles' versatility. Why stop doing something like that? Make him a permanent safety and stop utilizing his skill-set to the maximum benefit of our team? Sort of related to point 2: why hurt yourself by limiting someone who is such an obvious playmaker?

I don't know what long-term benefits a move to Safety for Woodson would bring to the Packers. Maybe they don't have to start Peprah? You can cover for Peprah somewhat by having an improved pass-rush... something the Packers have targeted this draft to the point that the GM, DC, D-line coach, and area-scout that have spoken to reporters have all mentioned the "juice" our first-two picks will bring to our D-line pass-rush when asked about what stood out about Perry / Worthy.

It doesn't really matter. Peprah could be the starter in name only. they could have 3 4 or 5 cb out there with 1 or no safety.

Charles is such a consummate pro, I would think if the team asked him, he might be in. He might recognize the benefit at his age. I just question whether he wouldn't be better staying on the field at DB and getting a younger, more true SS to develop. From what I understand, the Hayward kid can play there, and has Safety experience. I'm thinking we get a good one in about 10 picks... SS on the way.

I don't think, a move to safety is in the cards. With a better pass rush and hopefully also better pass coverage, Dom can move Woody around and give him more freedom to make plays. Capitalize on Woody's strong points, anticipate, jump routes(which doesn't work well when a QB has 6,7 seconds) and blitz.

As stated many times Coaches and Charles Woodson have both said there's no reason to move him to Safety. Not sure why some folks think they know where he should play over the coaches and the player himself. It doesn't make any sense to move him at Safety. I mean, really, where did this thought come from, did a All Pro Safety just get released or something??

He is going to do it all. Play it all. He will be a dynamo unleashed. DCs will have nightmares and QBs will wake up soaked in sweat. They have no idea where he will lineup or who he is going to cover.

Can anyone say NFL MVP & DPOTY?
