When I was much younger.. there was a movie named the Grizzly.. not a great movie but I will have to admit it made me think up in a bow stand with night creeping in more than once about that movie.

In other words - made an impression. Think Jaws on land.

Another movie I watched a 100 times over.. JAWS.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High - Phoebe Cates coming out of the swimming pool - was there ever a finer 30 seconds of cinematic history?

You already have the 2 required movie favorites to be allowed in my life (Gladiator and 300)

I didn't see Braveheart in any list, but I was skimming them pretty fast, too.
Taken is a great Leim Neeson flick.
I agree with Wade, Princess Bride has to be in one of these lists..
I actually liked the first Butterfly Effect, despite Ashton Kutcher.
Limitless was a fantastic movie.
Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are required watching!
Pack93z mentioned it already, but The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy is another must own.
The Goonies is a must own for those who were kids in the 80's.
An American Tail is probably my all time favorite animated feature. Great range of emotion in that movie.
How to Train Your Dragon and the Kung Fu Panda movies are my favorite CGI movies right now.

I had about 10 more in mind, but as I started writing them, some of these popped in my head. I'll probably add more later.

I haven't yet seen any Harry Potter or Lord or the Rings movies. I first seen a Stars Wars movie last year. My daughter and I watched all six over two days. Great father/daughter bonding.

Edit, Titanic is another movie I really liked. I'm a sucker for those mythology/history retelling type movies.

While it's not a "favorite," check out the movie "9." Incredibly unique movie that's definitely worth watching.
