I'm a really great guy. People like me. They even say I have great leadership potential and charisma (except the army, but that can go fuck itself). I'm in decent physical shape, with about the same physical dimensions as Greg Jennings. I think I would be a great locker room presence. I'll be happy to trot out onto the field once or twice a quarter as a decoy, maybe even catch a dumpoff when Rodgers gets in trouble. I might even luck out and catch a couple of touchdowns!

Why not? It's not about the stats. It's about the intangibles, right?

It pained me when Sterling Sharpe had to retire.

Now, that one hurt.

He was "my"/ our shot, in any given game.

God, he was good.

So incredibly ironic in how he will not shut the fuck up now, lol

Now he gets to be the one who asks questions, talk non stop. I don't think that's irony, but I am with you in getting a little laugh out of it.

I'd say Sterling Sharpe gave me my first taste of athletes are not all nice. He rejected giving me a signature after I caught up to him. Said he couldn't because he was carrying his helmet, pads, and shoes. I offered to carry one for him and he just smiled and kept walking. He was my favorite Packer, someone I emulated while playing catch with dad and he couldn't even take 10 seconds to sign my Sterling Sharpe rookie card that I was so proud of? I understand now why he didn't, because so many idiots take the signature an sell it ... but still ... at the time ... yeah.

Other than his 1 day holdout before the first game of the season to squeeze more money, I have nothing but positives about Sterling Sharpe. Choo Choo baby!

http://www.packers.com/news-and-events/article_spofford/article-1/McCarthy-tackles-receiver-topic-head-on/d6b219c9-2368-461e-ba78-5f55800a7a70

This is from McCarthy "garbage" article, didn't realize there was a thread devoted to whole article, but I think this part of the article belongs here. If i am wrong feel free to move or delete.

ā€œIf you start worrying about how many balls you get, then that’s when it gets to a point where you start losing games,ā€ Driver said. ā€œThen you put the pressure on Aaron to try to make sure that everyone stays happy.

ā€œI’m fine with it,ā€ Driver continued, speaking specifically about his lesser role as a 13-year veteran. Driver has just nine catches for 76 yards through five games. ā€œIf I think I’m fine with it, then I think everybody else has to be fine with it.ā€

Driver was referring to the media, but he could have been speaking about his teammates, as well. He didn’t say everyone is going to feel the same way he does, but he knows the example he sets as the elder statesman of the group.

He emphasized that he’s going to carry the same attitude now that he did as a rookie in 1999, whether others adopt it or not.

ā€œIt’s going to go up and down. You just have to get to the point where you’re comfortable with it and you’re still winning games,ā€ Driver said. ā€œI don’t want to get to a point where I’m catching 10 balls and we’re still losing. That’s not fun at all.ā€

Driver was there once, catching 86 passes for 1,221 yards in 2005 – both career highs at the time – for a team that lost 12 games.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
