I second what RP said. NZ folk are the nicest people you'll ever run into. I just pray they don't liberalize their immigration policy. It's no coincidence that all the great outdoor movies (Lord of the Rings for instance) will be filmed there. There is still unspoiled land out there (and I'm not talking about tundra, I mean something worth seeing).

I told you a long time ago about Molokai. World-class fishing and world-class HUNTING, (the best-kept secret of the place). You can have your Hawaii, still...just pick the correct island!

Dominican is good, but it ain't Hawaii.

If you're looking at 20 years down the line and are greatly motivated by policies of our federal government, then consider France. They will soon be surpassed by the USA for wussy leadership and a population with their hands out for entitlements. :p

If you're looking down toward the Carribbean, you might want to consider someplace like Panama. It's not really a destination I'd be interested, but three people I know recently told me (separately) that they were looking at moving down there.
