I don't want to argue specifics. The final 4 or 5 are tough.

But like every year there will be 2 guys I didn't think should be cut that are cut and there will be 2 guys I'm really supprised that make the roster.

Didn't Ted Thompson trade Tony Moll at the last minute last year? And that one year he picked up Grant. There could still be something coming out of left field too.

Sounds like a very reasonable list, wpr. Of course, it gets easier to predict as the final cut date approaches, and we're close now. The decision on whether to IR Zombo will be interesting and will be based on medical information that we do not have access to. Like you, I am thinking that Brad Jones will be gone, though.

You're the second person to mention Dietrich-Smith as a possible long snapper. You guys must know something I don't, because I haven't heard anything about this.

But then I have wished for them to use a regular player as the LS for 10 years. It is kind of like having a 3rd QB. A waste of a roster spot but necessary. I would love to have to more spots open. They could have a 6th WR or 5th TE or 9th LB.

I didn't see the game and didn't see how Harrell performed. Is he really good enough to make us have 3 QBs?

I think the only way Harrell makes the team is if Matt Flynn is traded, or they know they are going to be able to trade Flynn. And Matt Flynn did not do good this preseason so I think that's unlikely. Especially with Carson Palmer coming back, the Bengals are gonna look to trade him so that's one less Matt Flynn team to trade with.

IMO, Harrell closed the gap between the two and Flynn will command too much money next season (IMO) to be a backup here. Unless he is content with being a backup and accepts less.

Harrell and Flynn both played behind a line that was being rotated constantly last night to get film against starters for individual evals.. both struggled but Harrell seemed much more poised than Flynn last night.

Flynn still has value around the league for his performance last season vs New England.. 1st start did well enough.

Yes, I see us having 2 QBs on the 53. Interesting what Pack said about that in his 53 thread.

But Flynn finished 2 for 10 for 12 yards and Harrell 3 for 5 for 21 yards.

Oops @ my math. I meant 15 passes, but I forgot to factor in the starters. 19 is even lower than I would have expected. I hope we got a good look at the backs.

Needs to work on getting that 2nd foot in but still a very good beating the CB and great catch away from his body with his long arms.

But yeah didn't notice many WR with the back-ups in. Crabtree showed up with Rodgers and I think once with the back-up guys.
