Not really at all because the majority of the top tier players they picked up are still in their prime. LB, CB, DE and DB's are still in their prime at 30. Running Backs, they are a different story. lol
I dunno maybe those players on the 49ers were 30/31 too? I dunno. I just don't see the 49ers having bought the Super Bowl. They didn't go Yankee's on it.

The 49ers needed free agency to put them over the top. They are one of the few teams that went on a spending spree and went onto win the Super Bowl. Times differ, but at the time, their acquisitions were huge. We’re talking about four new starters on defense and a Pro Bowl center.
Frankly, the comparisons between the Eagles and 49ers scare me. The two teams also play similar style offenses. Obviously, the dynamic QBs are there and the running games are similar too. Like the Eagles, San Francisco used free agency to put their defense over the top. Of course, Philadelphia has to prove they can get these players to mesh. If I am an Eagles coach, fan, or player that is the blueprint I am looking at.
