Tully Banta Cain. OLB/DE (formerly) of the NE Patriots. He apparently tore an abdominal muscle, had surgery, would have misssed training camp, and was cut by the Pats.

I'm not saying "bring him in", but I'm saying "closely monitor", as he supposedly WILL be ready for the regular season.

Kuhn can do third down, but he wants to test the waters. Donald Lee was a pretty decent TE. But we got tons of talent there too.

I know he's probably a bust but I still want to bring in QB Kevin O'Connell... if for nothing else a camp arm and checking him out. Coming out of college he looked like he had a ton of potential but looked very raw and needed to be coached up a lot. The Patriots took him in the 3rd round, but latter cut, Lions picked him on (#1 on the Waiver line at the time) and seemed to pick him up just to trade him, as 5 day later he was traded to the Jets and has been cut twice now from them. And he had a torn labrum injury at one point.

But all that potential... gone? I still want the Packers to bring him in for at least a try out (if he looks bad don't sign him).

I'm guessing we're talking about all FAs, not just waiver guys.

I like our depth, but was hoping we could get one veteran reserve to DE. If Raji or Pickett get hurt, we're looking at starting two unproven players on d-line. A guy like Shaun Ellis could come in on one year $2-3M deal and provide great insurance and solid play for a season.
