In Jackson's rookie season he couldn't even come close to picking up a blitz, so that aspect can be taught. I'd personally go with Grant, Starks and Green.

I'm not aware of many being in the corner of Brandon Jackson other than as a cost friendly 3rd down back.

I'll admit that I like Jackson. Not huge amounts of love for him but as a receiver out of the backfield I think he is good. I remember 2-3 plays he made last season; in one I think he faked urlacher out of his shorts. The time he waited for the blocking to set up on a screen (maybe against Atlanta?) was great field vision. I wouldn't mind him back for the right price until Starks and Green get up to speed.

I do like Grant but his number is a little high.

I can't believe how much some people underrate Ryan Grant. I love Starks as much as the next guy, but what happens if he goes down in week 1? Do we really want to see Jackson/Green/Kuhn starting? This is a two back league.

I look at Ryan Grant and Starks as similar players. Combined these two guy make around $6M next season. I don't think that is too much money tied up at one position. I think we should split the work load, in order to keep both guy fresh for winter football and the playoffs. We can alway let Grant walk at the end of next season.

The answer is no.

In addition, Starks also runs quite high for a RB and that can lead to injuries. For all the durability questions surrounding Grant, Starks is equally a red flag himself. I rather have a combination of Grant and Starks than a combination of Jackson and Starks. In my view, it is a no brainier.

I like Starks’ upside, but Grant is still a more decisive runner, which is what you need to be in this blocking scheme. Brandon Jackson is very hesitant and dances a lot. Jackson is only good for blitz pickup because Alex Green is a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. In other words, I think they can replace Jackson as a receiver with Green.

At this point, releasing Grant would be a mistake in my opinion, which is why I would be shocked if it happened.

Packers will need Both RG and Starks plus the help of the other rb's to make it a successful 2011 season.

The answers to all these questions will come throughout the weekend, by Monday we all should know somewhat what the roster will look like in 2011.

GB may well have won the SB last year without Grant bit that doesn't mean they would not miss him if he was gone this year. I would like it better if his contract were only 3 mil instead of 6. I think Stark will pan out but I like having Grant around as a safety valve. They can't go with Starks and Green as the main two backs at this time. Maybe next year.
