James Starks (Secret Weapon) Last Playoffs?

Remember when everyone was upset on how James Starks wasn't getting reps or wasn't activated for a game or two after he returned from his injury. Do you guys think Mike McCarthy was getting him ready and trying to keep him off NFL tapes?

Like that opposing team had no idea how to stop him come the playoffs, they had no idea what kind of back he is / could be therefore it gave us an edge?

Excellent strategy move by Mike McCarthy IMO if it actually was that, caught everyone off guard.

I mentioned this back then too, but considering how he still managed something like 4.7 yards on 11 carries against one of the best run defenses in the league ... I lost my belief in it, lol.

Honestly I don't think Mike McCarthy is that kind of coach. If Starks wasn't ready then he wouldn't play but if he was ready I think Mike McCarthy would play him. I think Mike McCarthy would do his best to win every game, especially concentrating on the next game on the schedule and would use all the best available players to win that game.

Some people go so far as to say that Mike McCarthy doesn't even really strategize until the playoffs. He doesn't want other teams to know what to expect. I'm not sure, myself. It does seem like they start out fast every year, then suck for like 8 games before squeaking into the playoffs.

I think it just happened. Starks was finally 100%, and ready. Mike McCarthy saw the chance, took it, and it paid off.
