That bothers me, but not as much as those who can't differentiate between its and it's.

Back on topic, yes. Loved him in the 4-3. In the 3-4, he's a bad fit. Just like Kampy.

Let's see what we can get for him.

The one that bugs me in others is "lose" and "loose".

"Lose" -- what Vikings do.
"Loose" -- what you keep hoping that beautiful woman is.

(You can use "loose" as a verb, but only if you're Shakespeare: "Cry 'Havoc!" and loose the dogs of war...")

Wait a minute...I'm misquoting Shakespeare, I think. Never mind that parenthetical.

He is traded but it is only for a 5 or 6 pick.

Speaking of Jenkins....is anyone else bothered by the fact, or amused by the juxtaposition, that we seem to be okay with letting Jenkins go because his injury history suggests a bigger-than-average risk ... yet we're putting the lion's share of our hopes in being able to replace him ... in a player who missed all last year with a major injury, who we won't know how far back he is until pads are on?

That seems rather, well, weird to me.

Okay, okay, Kevin's going to rip me for going off-topic again. Back to the original question ...

Should we trade Barnett? If we can, yes.

In an ordinary year, I think we'd have difficulty -- since the other teams can say, "let's just wait until they cut him". But I think the shortened off seeason means...well, actually I don't know what it means. It could make it harder than ever (because of all the other things GMs and coaches are trying to do in the same shorter time frame. Or it could make it easier, since "teams with needs" may see a trade as easier to work out relative to figuring out the price of a free-agency deal in that time frame.

I think much depends on - will he accept a backup role, will he be a good teamate, and will he accept a pay cut? If the answer is "no" to any of those questions then trade him for the best you can get. Another consideration might be how the backups look.

If we could get a 4th for him, that's fine. Who do you trust with that 4th round pick more than TT? Probably no one. In fact we'd probably get a better player for that 4th rounder than we would if we traded Barnett for a player outright.
Anyway, if Barnett wants to try his hand at ROLB, give him a shot. But does anyone really think he'd be willing to do that?

I think it depends... what can we get for him in a trade and is he willing to take a reduced contract, and willing to be a back-up if he can't beat out the starters? ... I'm not sure he's emotional willing to be a back-up.

As far as FA I'd want to take a long look into OL Marshal Yanda (BAL) and let him compete with Lang and who ever else at LG and take a look into DL Barry Coefield (NYG) and if he's pass rushing might be better in an aggressive 3-4 DE role.

How many ACL injuries has he had? One or two? Or was his wrist what was busted up?
