S4L, you are going to be a bummed man in the next 6 weeks. Jenkins is probably already spending his signing bonus from Big Bucks Danny; and Barnett makes too much money to be a reserve. I would love to get a starting LG for him; or somebody like Jeremy Trueblood so we would have huge options on the OL.

I think they should just try to get as much as they can for Barnett. That 4th doesn't look like a whole lot for the way he's been playing in GB, but it's better than letting him go for nothing. I very much doubt that the compensatory pick will be better than a 4th.

Jenkins is just too expensive. You just can't keep all these players around. That's why drafting well stays important throughout a dynasty and not just at the start of it. They saw this coming last year, that's why we got Neal. Jolly getting into trouble again was a setback at the position, Wilson showing that he can actually play a bit made it even out again.

And although the chances of a 7th round rookie making an impact immediatly are very slim, we added Lawrence Guy to the mix, as well.

It's obvious to me that they're both gone.

were only about 60k under the proposed cap, i'd rather cut 56 and pay Sitton/Matthews/Raji than use up the space on Jenks.

Tausher too. This is also the reason I believe Driver will be gone soon, we need to cut away the guys who don't play to their contracts, because we have alot of young talent that needs to be locked up.

Nelson should be pretty cheap as he hasn't done squat yet in his career, look for Ted to grab another reciever in this next draft.

Teddybear has some salary magic to work this year.

Agreed with using the cap space for Matthews and Raji or even Finley, all tho I don't see why we couldn't franchise him for at least one season or just to trade him instead of losing him for nothing. We can trade Barnett + franchise Jenkins like that we can use him for one more year or like I stated trade him. It's not like we need to re-sign anyone of the important players this year. At worst we could just let Jenkins walk at the end of the following year. I mean we can't have enough D-line men considering our non stop injuries.

Dumbass reunions should have a special little room for people who can't differentiate your and you're.

Back on topic, yes. Loved him in the 4-3. In the 3-4, he's a bad fit. Just like Kampy.

Let's see what we can get for him.

Yes, Ted should try to trade him. Maybe he can get a mid-round pick. It's unlikely that he could get a quality starter at another position (left guard has been mentioned) because it would have to be just the right situation, where a team that wants Barnett has a player at a position of need for the Packers who is really good but expendable. Strange as it may seem, Barnett is now a backup, which diminishes his trade value because if he isn't traded he is likely to get cut. I hate to say this because I think Barnett is a very good player, and I've always appreciated him. But I think that's the way it is right now.

The question I keep asking myself is why would any team trade for Barnett when everyone knows he will be cut if a trade isn't made anyway?

He is traded but it is only for a 5 or 6 pick.
