Eventually, the lockout will end. Eventually, free agency will begin.

When it does, Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins will become a free agent. According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, the Redskins are interested in Jenkins and Jenkins is interested in the Redskins.

The Redskins are entering their second season using the 3-4 defense. One of the primary challenges when changing from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense, and vice-versa, arises from ensuring that the right personnel is in place. And that the personnel wants to be in that place.

In Jenkins case, his arrival has another benefit. With a brand-new Super Bowl ring that he can flash in the locker room, Jenkins can try to persuade the Redskins to attempt to win a ring of their own.

If that's what it takes to persuade the Redskins into winning a Super Bowl, Washington has bigger problems then.

Yeah, Jenkins would definitely be going there just for the money. It's highly unlikely he'll even be seriously competing for the playoffs during his tenure there, if it happens.

I understand the logic in going for the biggest payday to some extent, but not entirely. I would want at least a decent structure and chance to win. Besides, it's not like they're going to be working for crumbs at several other teams around the league that would offer such.

For Jenkins, going to a team like the Redskins would turn football into simply a "job," if you will, and probably wouldn't be a decision I would make if I was looking for anything more than a slightly bigger paycheck.

Hold onto this article and leak for use in a tampering case later this offseason.. that is if the jackasses holding the show up can figure out how to split billions effectively. 😉

If Jenkins feels scorned by the Packers for not reupping him during last season, then fuck him. He knows how this business works, and I for one do not like hearing about him accepting less from the Packers but it had to be when he wanted it. That doesn't make him righteous, it makes him greedy. So go get your money Cullen, we got your best years anyway. The only one that gets to hold the Packers hostage is Rodgers, and in my opinion, he's worth more than his paycheck would indicate.

yep. sounds like tampering to me too.

If Cullen does land there he most likely will be over paid. Good for him. Since GB won't face Washington for a while I don't mind it at all. If they do in a year or two perhaps that will be one of the weeks he misses because he is injured.
