I'm not so sure but it didn't even look like Cutler was trying to help Hanie or Collins when he got hurt. You'd figure he would at least try to help his team in SOME way.

I don't question his toughness. I question his commitment to his team.

Apparently he played at Colorado State (20 mins north of me) and was on the radio.
The announcers were bashing Jay Cutler.
Caleb Haine said that Jay Cutler helped him quite a bit. He's a local guy around here.

Just because the camera's didn't show, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Jay being the bad guy is a story, Jay helping out the rookie is not what the "popular" opinion thrives for.

Of course Hanie is gonna say that. He wouldn't go up there and talk bad about his teammate....

No sir, you brokededed it. Phillip Rivers and Jay Cutler do not like one another. Phillip Rivers played several quarters with a torn ACL in the AFC Championship game.

Using Rivers makes more sense than Rodgers, although Rodgers did play a full half with a broken bone in his foot a few years back.

and thats why iv'e always liked Rivers.

When put in the position to speak badly, he refused to comment.

Your stance is that of a cynic or one who simply would rather bash Jay than understand he might do something positive.

Hanie had no reason to lie. He could have easily said "i have coaches for that." or something to that effect.

I don't care for Jay Cutler, but I sure as heck won't dis the guy based on assumptions, that's just naive-in my opinion.

One could go either way though. The film didn't show Cutler helping him much. I agree with GoPackGo that Hanie would say the most politically correct statement regardless. It's his team mate and most of us do not like to create workplace drama.

Hanie's statement doesn't necessary prove it either way, imo. Judging what I saw, I couldn't tell. Doesn't mean it wasn't happening, but it doesn't mean it was true either. I can't imagine anyone in the Bears organization (or any for that matter) saying something like "oh yeah, our injured starting QB wasn't willing to help at all."

I'll remain skeptical, but have no proof either way. Overall it's pretty meaningless anyway.

Keep in mind, I may be a bit bias though. My Dad is a die hard Broncos fan so I watched a lot of Cutler from the beginning. I don't remember a specific example and it's not important enough for me to do research on, but all the knocks on him since he's been a Bear were present when he was a Bronco. He often seemed detached, apathetic, and selfish. Sure, he may have been the best team mate in the world on the sidelines, but us fans at home would like to see more out of our starting QB. He's not obligated to appease fans, but it would be nice.

Often a reputation is developed for a reason. Yeah, it might be unfair sometimes, but there is likely some truth to it. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what the media or fans think. As long as he has the support of the organization, he can act however he wants.
