Picture's missing NSD.

Crazy stuff. I heard 2 passenger trains are missing. I can't imagine the thoughts going through someone's head as they're stuck in a train and suddenly a giant wave comes along and takes the train away.

We're currently on tsunami watch here in SF. We're told to stay on higher ground. I'm several hundred feet up so should be good. Highly doubtful the waves will hit here over 30'.

It is so sad that this has happened. I feel for the people who are going through all of this.
I heard the tsunami waves are reaching all the way to California. 2-3 feet high. How eerie.

From what I heard, Hawaii was more or less spared, haven't heard about CA, but the pictures in Japan are horrific. Prayers certainly with the people of Japan, what a horrific disaster!

It came over the breaker on Waikiki but was not strong enough to reach the hotels.
of course there are a lot more beaches and other islands that face to the West. I do not know what happened to them.

cnn reported that hawaii was spared, for whatever that's worth. As zombie said, imagine being in the train, in a car...how helpless you'd feel. What a horrible day!

That's the hard part with things like this. There's no warning. A beautiful sunny day can become a horrific event in seconds.

It is a horrible day in the history of mankind, hard to imagine what kinds of horrors the victims felt.

And it reaches world wide.. the Brewers pitcher Saito hasn't been able to contact his parents and siblings, although he had talked to his wife and children.

Makes you realize just what our place in this world is.. mother nature reminds us time to time.
