I have a couple of comments.

First, T.J. Lang was not very good last year. I don't know if injuries held him back, but I was not impressed with him when he got in games. I believe he saw action against Chicago and Detroit.

The other thing to note is that 30 is not that old for a center. Scott Wells has a couple of years left in him and had his best season by far this year. In fact, Wells is probably a top five center in the NFC currently or close to it. Certainly, he is among the top half of 16 teams.

Finally, I recall McCarthy being optimistic about Brandon Underwood last year. Granted, Underwood had other things going on, which may have hindered his development, but I wouldn't read too much into his comments.

I personally believe the starting LG is not on the roster yet. Well see though.

I just watched it and all I saw was him joking with Spitz about getting sponsors for the show. I didn't see the "bitching about money."

As far as Lang vs. McDonald I think the writer is making assumptions that might be correct.

MM is disappointed Lang didn't improve and glad a undrafted guy has the tools and is showing potential...

But when Clifton got knocked out of the Bears game who came in to replace him? Lang... and Lang got beat up the first drive he was in there against Peppers pass rush, he came back and took it to Peppers and beat him bad on that long drive where the Packers ran the ball more and I believe they scored a TD on that drive.

Also when Colledge got knocked out of the Lions game Spitz came in... when spitz stunk it up and got pulled Lang came in.


I think putting McDonald before Lang is assuming something that during this season isn't true...

As far as Lang not improving his wrist injury might of held him back.
