My concern with Woodson is not so much his age as he is in excellent shape as has not lost a step IMO, it is the dislocated shoulder. That is a terrible injury that has a high incidence of re-injury. Based on how he plays the game and that we play such a strong man-on-man pass defence I am worried whether he will hold up for a full season at CB. In light of this I would like to see an attempt to play him at Safety to see how this will work out. I wouldn't be sad at all to see a strong corner drop to us as this league becomes so pass oriented it is a position where having quality depth is paramount to team success.

I still have hope that Underwood can become a decent nickle back or at worst a good dime back.

It makes me nauseas to even see a running backs name as a prospective draft pick and the summary behind the choices are...pointless.

Ted Thompson WILL NOT draft Mikel LeShoure or Mark Ingram, even if Mark Ingram is there.

Personally, all about the offensive line with this first pick.
Gabe Carimi
Derreck Sherrod

Both names are exciting to see and make sense. I think the Packers really need to draft a quality left tackle. Let them learn from Clifton for one year (and possibly get some PT with Clifton injuries). I have faith that TJ Lang can take over at LG. When Lang is in, he has shown he can pass and run block and overall, he is a solid inside lineman and the answer for the Packers. If Gabe Carimi can play LG, thats just another reason to pick him up if he falls to 32.

Cornerback is another glaring need for the Packers, but I am not too familiar with any high-profile corners coming into this draft. I am excied for the combine to watch some of these names.

He broke his collarbone, but I haven't heard anything about a dislocated shoulder. From what I've heard, the collarbone injury is expected to fully heal.

I would think he would take more hard hits at safety than he would at CB anyway, having to sometimes tackle RBs that are running straight ahead with a full head of steam.

Also, I think our defense is more zone-oriented than man-to-man.

One point where I'm in agreement with you is that I wouldn't mind seeing a CB drafted in the first round. But there are several other positions that would be fine with me as well.

Right now, I have the Packers going OL, but interior OL. I think there are two interior lineman with late first round grades. The first is Mike Pouncey, who is obviously going to be compared to his brother. I'm not sure he is going to be on the board when the Pack pick.

Stefen Wisniewski is the other guy I think they may look at. Admittedly, some would consider it a reach to see him in the first round, but he is a meat and potatoes guy and extremely smart. Would start at LG IMO and then possibly move over to center when they move on from Scott Wells in a few years. That's kinda an outside of the box type of pick, but I think he's underrated.

I heard this Wadkins or Watkins kid is a beast and climbing the draft boards but being an interior OL he could still be around. Can play all three interior positions which is something the Pack likes.

And Ted Thompson will select someone those guys don't have on their board at all, lol.

Since Ted arrived the draft is so unpredictable that it isn't that much fun until afterward.

Last year no mock draft had Bulaga lasting past #14 yet Ted got him.
How many expected a trade down for Jordy Nelson?
How many thought the trade up for Clay Matthews was too expensive?

Listen. Don't be suprised if Ted takes a QB. Why? Flynn is getting to the point where he can be traded for a high pick and start for some bad franchise. Ted will look smart taking one this year and training him up.

Other spots where it would be nice to draft:
CB - Lee and Underwood can be replaced
OT/ O-line If Spitz goes a backup Center is needed.
NT - Green won't last for long.

After the Brian Brohm fiasco, I doubt he wastes another high pick on a QB. Maybe a late round guy to develop if they don't think Graham Harrell can every be a legit #2 QB.

Yeah, Danny Watkins. He had a great senior bowl. However, he isn't very young by draft standards. He is 26 I believe, so that could come into play. Personally, I think he is the third or fourth best interior lineman in this draft. He finishes his blocks though, which is something Colledge struggles with.

found another mock at Profootball talk  which must be affilitated with NBC.

32. Packers: Cameron Heyward, defensive end, Ohio State.

Returning 15 players (six opening-day starters) from injured reserve, the loaded Packers can use the 32nd overall pick on the best player available. Heyward is an ideal 3-4 end at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds with long arms and a powerful bull rush.

Interesting they have Pitt picking up Mike Pouncey at 31. If he is there at 31 I would not be surprised to see them go another route which means it could be possible for GB to pick him up.
