It is just around the corner. While basking in the glow of the SB victory it is time to look ahead to draft day.
Rd. 1: Thursday, April 28
Rds. 2-3: Friday, April 29
Rds. 4-7: Saturday, April 30

I am not trying to forecast who will still be available at 32 that is not feasible. I just want to think about it's approach like kids look forward to Christmas. It is only 79 days away and counting.

I am certain Uncle Ted will take the tried and true BPA route.

What I am wondering about is will he trade his first round pick for a 2nd and 3rd. They really don't need to stockpile bodies do I don't think he will do that.
Maybe give up picks to move up for a better player like he did with CM3.
I do not know if this year's draft is considered to be a deep one. Is next year better? Maybe he will trade the 1st round in 2011 for a 1st round in 2012.

Over all I don't think they have any glaring needs. as usual OL help would be nice.
Take a look at a WR for the future.
Bodies in the secondary.
Maybe an OLB if one falls to them.

HERZLICH!!!

If he's there in the 3rd I'll be screaming for TT/MM to draft him.

The Packers will have up to 9 picks in this draft. I'd like to see Ted Thompson trade up high enough to take both QB Cam Newton and OT Anthony Castonzo. That would be an awesome first round. If Cam Newton was gone, I wouldn't mind seeing Thompson take WR Julio Jones.

Barnett might be used to move us a few spots too. Or possibly a sign and trade with Jones. Barnett would be nice to trade since I don't see him in green and gold next year anyway, but i'd really like to hang onto Jones, you can never have enough threats.

Didn't you want our Jones gone for his bad hands?

Julio Jones has that exact same problem.

I'd like to move up and draft Von Miller, fix up that one weak spot on the defense. Have our own tandem of great OLBs. Just like the Steelers.

I just think that we'd have to move up too far.

The kid was good last year, but with his play this year and his showing at the Senior Bowl, he should've moved up into the top 10, easily.

Nice thing about being deep in the play offs ... less downtime with watching my team activites :)

ya draft day coming - too bad we are too far down for speculation ...
I just want a decent KR/PR guy ... IMO that and another OL peep oh ya another corner ... we are set after that IMO.
ya sure maybe a WR to groom.

ok draft done time for 2011 season 🙂

We do have one glaring need, and that is a legitimate returner. You do not temp the injury Gods by trotting out your starting and nickel corners to do that work. We played with fire all year and we are damn lucky we didn't get burned.

Sigh.

OL.

Period.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Check this guy out, The Packers invited him to the Ohio State Pro-day, don't know if he will ever show up in Green Bay, but it looks like Ted is doing his thing, searching all venues for hidden talent.

I received this info from a family member who works in local media, Horn came up when we were talking about the kid who played RB for New Orleans this year from Findlay college.

Ashland and Findlay are about the same size.

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
