Lying in bed while watching the game on TV.... With German commentary.

It was the worst of both worlds. The way that game ended, the German brabble. I tried to block it out, but I just can't.

One of the hardest things was that I was very rarely that confident that we'd win after that missed FG by Tynes.... and then again when Tynes missed another FG.

It was roughly the same as when we got the ball in OT last year and there was little doubt in my mind that we'd go the length of the field and put 6 on them in OT.

Had to get out of bed just a couple of hours later. Wasn't one of my more productive days.

Where EXACTLY were you that day when the game ended?

In my living room with my wife sleeping on the couch and trying to be somewhat quiet.

Didn't work..

But I got an A for effort walking out onto the deck and letting off on of those can't believe he threw that ball routine that marked many a Packer game in those times.. sometimes they worked.. many times they didn't.

I felt better when the neighbor, Mr. Johnson from across the street, came out grumbling and bitching soon after I hit the deck. Never asked if his wife was sleeping. 😉

I was in my car trying to get home and watch the "victory". I had to leave home at half time. I missed the whole tragic end. I got the door just as he threw the interception. WHY WHY WHY BRETT? Have you learned nothing in all these years? (Apparently not after doing it again 2 years later.) That one I didn't mind at all.

Drove home to watch the game with my dad, then drove the 2 hours back afterwards. Longest 2 hrs of my fucking life.

I was at Gabe's Roadhouse -- a fantastic Packer bar in St. Paul

I was younger but I remember ripping my shirt off and throwing it as hard as I could. See my dad was a Giants fan so it took me a good week before I would talk to him.

I was at a friend's house who was a pseudo-Giants fan so I couldn't kick holes in the wall like I wanted to. I remember thinking that this should be the end for Burt as well. I was growing tired of his annual 'will he/won't he' routine and the organization and team set up the perfect 'ride into the sunset' storybook ending for him and he biffed it.

On a positive note, I feel fairly confident about this one. The Packers played very average in Dec yet won, and if it weren't for an unorthodox number of penalties, the Packers may very well may have swept the cubs this year.

With my wife in Section 114, Row 25, freezing our asses off and listening to a bunch of Giants' fans behind me celebrating when Tynes' kick went through the uprights. I still, to this day, cannot believe Coughlin called for the FG try and I'm still in disbelief that he made it. 47 yards in that weather was pretty much unbelievable.

buckeyepackfan (20h) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (20h) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
