The NFC Championship Game. This Sunday. This is truly a moment to cherish. A win and a two week time to hope, pray, wish and dream for one more victory.

I was just thinking back to the last time I watched the Packers in the NFC Championship game.

I remember every moment of that game against the Giants.

I was at a hotel in Sacramento California.

I died a slow death when Brett threw the pick.

So close... And the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl. Manning got his mega contract after the win and has done nothing much since.

Just wondering...

Where EXACTLY were you that day when the game ended?

My wife and I were watching the game in our living room where we have over the years preferred to be during a Packers game rather than be around a partying bunch.
When the "daggar" came, I was screaming, "he has to go" and of course off he went.

This year we have been going to a local watering hole to watch with other Packers fans and have had alot of fun.
I still make an ass out of myself yelling at the big screen and throwing my Mike McCarthy challenge flag.

I was at Gabe's Roadhouse -- a fantastic Packer bar in St. Paul -- with my best friend (Silentio, my girlfriend, and a 150+ screaming Pack fans. When the game went to overtime we went out to my car to grab some rally-cupcakes. We dined on a pool table with a drape over it. Such an intense day.

If you remember, the Chargers really screwed the pooch in the earlier AFC game. They were a hot team going into the playoffs and I kept thinking that I'd rather play San Diego than the undefeated Patriots (whom I believe we would have lost to).

That Giants game ... so many ups and downs. The long driver touchdown. The Favre interception that was stripped and recovered by Tausch. Plaxico, a real douche in my opinion, going off on Al Harris. Ups and downs, all the way to the wire. It was so disappointing to lose, but '07 was a wild ride.

2010 was a wild ride of different sorts. And I firmly believe this team has what it takes. We need to completely shake off the inconsistency demons, but if we play our best game we're awfully hard to beat.

GO PACK GO!

what the hell this thread is depressing

It is only depressing if one thinks that the loss was not a building experience for this organization. That loss contributed to the success of building this team. That is a fact.

It is also only depressing if one thinks it is going to happen again.

Which it is not.

My only point was I remembered exactly where I was. It was a moment. It was the NFC Championship with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

I was sitting in my living room with my laptop on my lap watching the game on the internet (it wasn't on tv here), and I was also in the live chat on this site.

I remember I had been wearing my Favre jersey for most of the first half, for whatever reason I decided to take it off and straight away we scored on that long TD to Driver.

When overtime started I couldn't bare to watch, so I went into my kitchen for and just paced up and down. When I came back to my laptop I saw that the Giants had the ball and my heart sank.

At least I missed the INT...

buckeyepackfan (20h) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (20h) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (20h) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (20h) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (20h) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL
Mucky Tundra (21h) : I think this games over
beast (22h) : Eagles sure get a lot of fumbles on kickoffs
Mucky Tundra (22h) : This game looks too big for Washington
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : that being said, The Ravens are the Browns
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,
beast (26-Jan) : Someone pointed out, with Raiders hiring Carroll, the division games between Carroll and Jim Harbaugh are back on (who can whine more games)
beast (26-Jan) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
