FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots receiver Deion Branch was asked following the game if he was embarrassed by the loss. His answer: "I'm not embarrassed, I'm just frustrated. The embarrassing part came from a few classless guys [on the Jets] after the game. There were a lot of classless things that went on after the game ended.''

When asked what he was referring to, Branch answered, "Didn't you see it? You've got to go back and watch it. Pretty classless stuff.''

Some of New England's players left the field when time ran out rather than shake hands with the Jets players. When asked if he was one of them Branch said, "I'm a champion. I'm always going to congratulate guys. They beat us today. The ones with class, I shook their hands. And the ones that didn't, I didn't [shake their hands]. You can tell they're not used to being in this position.''

In the week leading up to the game, several Jets players took exception to Tom Brady's exuberance during the Patriots' 45-3 win over New York on Dec. 6, notably Antonio Cromartie, who called Brady an "ass----."

Jackie MacMullan, who has spent nearly 20 years as a beat writer and columnist in Boston, is a columnist for ESPNBoston.com.

I thought that too at the end, they were running around like they won the Super Bowl. I could understand that reaction if the Pats were trash talking them all week but the Pats were quiet, the Jets were doing all the talking.

My dad always told me, "act like you've been there before". I hope its Jets v. Packers in the SB, so we can shut them up. I was cheering for the Jets in that game but wasn't even happy after they won because of their antics.

Rex Ryan running into the end zone to celebrate a TD with a player that already got a flag for excessive celebration? Really? To each his own and I know some people love when players show emotion but I think it was all over the top, IMO anyway.

The Pats deserved the extra exuberance the Jets showed if you asked me. You know, the whole Rex Ryan Welker foot thing? You know how Brady acts like an ass when he's doing good?

Yeah, all that came back in their faces, and now some Pats are mad about it? Babies if you ask me.

It's hard to like the Jets. I was not sticking up for them. I couldn't help but admire the way they played, though. And I don't feel the least bit sad for the Patriots.

I will be sticking up for the Steelers next week, partly because I don't like the Jets, but also because if the Packers go to the Super Bowl, I'd rather have them play the Steelers than the Jets. We would know what we're up against with the Steelers, but the Jets are a team that is still evolving and has probably not yet peaked.

See, I fear the Steelers. They always have luck on their side it seems. Whenever they are down, they get some random fumble or some random throw by Big Ben to some no one receiver for 40 yards. The Jets are the Jets, someone cursed them after Nameth and they always find a way to lose it seems. Due to purely stupid superstitious reasons, I would rather play the karma-less Jets.

I don't feel bad for the Patriots but it doesn't mean the Jets weren't being classless.

The Jets are punks but they just slapped you all over your own field. Time to shut up, Deion.
